MG4 - First UK dealer hands on photos and specifications

I need to get some stuff set up on our system to allow us to take deposits and keep track of the customers properly. Give me a day or two, and I'll have it sorted. I'll of course post on here once it's possible.
Any news on when this is going live Miles?

Does the trophy come with a decent brand sound system or is it the standard MG 6 speaker with 3D sound?

Is the 3D camera better quality than ZS EV or is it the same?

Are there plans to submit the car for EuroNCAP tests?

Does it have the same connected features as the ZS EV or will it have more? (iSmart)

Good valid questions being asked here... Would particular like to know about EuroNCAP...

Yesterday, I got the first chance to see (and sit in) the new MG4 (and facelifted MG5).

First impressions were "wow!"

The quality of the finish was very impressive. This was in Trophy specification, in the new Camden Grey paint colour, with a 64kWh battery. Interior space has been maximised by using a long wheelbase (the MG4 wheelbase is only 15mm shorter than the MG HS). This gives shorter overhangs, with more passenger space compared to traditionally proportioned cars.

The boot was a good size, with a two level floor. No figures were given regarding litre capacity, but it appeared bigger than say Kia Niro Electric.

The rear passenger space is good for 2 adults and a child, with excellent headroom and legroom. Flat floor through the back. No rear courtesy lights though (!).

LED headlights front and rear. No Frunk.

The dashboard design is well laid out, with a quality fit and finish throughout. Clearly this is a car which has been benchmarked against the iD3, but I'd objectively say that this feels more premium.

Under the floating drive-mode selector, there is a storage console with 2 cupholders, a roller-shutter covered large drawer, and a couple of USB sockets.
Behind the drive mode selector is a wireless phone charger (with a removable cover, where you can pass USB cables through if required).

There is no start-stop button on the MG4. To start it, you simply get into the car with the key, and put your foot on the brake.

I have been told by an MG UK engineer that the CCS charging speed on the 51kWh variant is around 90-100kW, and on the 64kWh version it is 120-130kW peak.

Hi Miles, Its so hard to tell from pictures, but in your view how does it feel to get in and out of what would be the best comparison car. How low is it, windscreen rake etc. I don't have bad mobility but not keen on dropping in to a seat and my wife for example finds our HS PHEV a bit too high and our MG5 windscreen rake intruded on the head a bit getting in and out your thoughts please

May I asked what dealerships you placed these deposits with?
Luscomb's as someone mentioned above, and looks like Chorley already taking names last week. May be quicker just calling them up:

Not sure about any others

I also went with Luscombe's.
I got a call from one of their reps last week asking if I wanted to put a £99 deposit down; however I had already done so a couple of weeks beforehand, so I am unsure if it's a first come first serve queue or just a list of people and it'll be random selection of who gets first orders in.

Both reps I spoke to seemed nice blokes.

Fingers crossed

Dealers are taking £99 refundable deposits to get you the best chance of getting one this year. I have done this with my dealer. I think Dealer demo vehicles will be September and first customer vehicles October-November.
Where have we heard that before..!!

Spoke to sales today at Chorley group they wanted a £200 deposit for a MG4? what happened to the £99 🤷‍♂️

Every dealer is different..mine is considerably more than £200.00
Yeah, but in this case it seems others have paid £99 at Chorley...

See what Miles says on it... Maybe there's some confusion - it definitely says £99 above.
