MG4 Reviews from various online publications

This guy appeared to confirm that the car does not retain your settings if you turn off the aggressive lane assist and you have to turn it off again each time you restart the car if you have MG Pilot on standby.
You can turn off lane assist and other 'features' in any other car I know of and hopefully MG will 'correct' this down the track.
Yes, fingers crossed this’ll be in a future software update. In my test drive I didn’t have any problem with lane assist. It could have been turned off and I didn’t realise. I didn’t touch any of the settings when I got in, so it must have remembered it’s previous settings set by the dealer.

If lane keep assist were on you would know about it as the car would be a nightmare to drive with the steering wheel pulling in various random directions. My lane keep assist stays off when turned off, thank God. You should also see if it is turned off by the symbol displayed on the driver display:

It must have been off then, which means it remembered that setting. 🤔

I suspect there are different versions of software in circulation, at least one that preserves the settings and at least one that resets each time. I'm not however sure which model that MG is working towards with latest version. Personally I'd prefer my settings to be preserved but it may be necessary for maximum NCAP safety rating for all systems to be turned on each time.

Mine seems to remember the LKA setting which is good. The one that really annoys me still is the AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) - this always switches back on if disabled and in the default moderate setting cruise control is unusable on a two way road as it thinks I am about to plough into oncoming cars and starts braking. Setting it to "low" sensitivity is better but I have to do that every time I get in the car. Hopefully software update will fix this at some point.

Flickering? I've seen similar on other videos, and I think it's the operating frequency of the LEDs vs the capture frame rate of the camera.
Could be I guess but I didn't think it looked like that because it's a step change rather than a flicker. More like the car had decided to do something such as "coming home" lights? Didn't seem like there was anyone in the car. Not important, just wondered :D
