I am still getting "rumblings of the dealer". Every week they are in touch to say "not yet, but more coming next week, stay tuned". I am beginning to think they are torturing me.
My dealer never calls , i feel left out. I was told a date to collect, which was two weeks ago but it didn't materialise. I now think that was the date they arrived in the UK. I've got a VIN number and it's been "at the port" for ages.
I think there are a few issues combining to create this mess.
1. high demand
2. limited supply
3. poor communication between MG, the port, delivery companies and dealers
4. Dealers taking orders for cars they don't have access to, in case they have cancellations they want to keep their order books populated.
A dealer showed me the MG screen on the system and it shows cars, colours, model ect, where they are , factory, ship, port and then after port i appears to be some king of lottery as to what is transported to dealers. He did make one point which was interesting in that not all dealers are equal and some dealers seemed to get regular deliveries earlier than he was. Maybe some of us picked the wrong dealer!
This all leads to frustrations as no one in the process can offer anything like assurances that turn out to be true. The current unrest in China may have some additional negative impact.
I could have bought almost any other make of EV and have it on the drive by now.
Im learning new levels of patience which my family are appreciative of.
