MG4 Trophy Focus Warning Alert (Fix incoming)

Praise be! The update has resolved the issue. The annoying thing is that the option to permanently silence but not disable is gone. I can only disable it but this re-enables on next start up, as before. It does seem a lot less sensitive than before however I will just have to kill it each journey for now. Until the next update which I shall let others beta test!
If you disable it before a journey does it automatically come back on as soon as you go above 37mph? I turn mine off at the start of the journey but if I go over 35/37mph then reduce speed to say 20mph then increase again to 35mph it comes back on by itself. So it won’t stay off for a single journey 😭 or does yours stay off if you turn it off until you lock the car and then it resets to on?

Took mine in to Cars2 today for the factory recall (doors locking update) and they put the Drowsiness Warning fix on too 👍🏻 it’s nice to see that the technician checked for other updates rather than having to take it back again.

Oh I haven't noticed that. Just been town driving since the initial test. I'll try that out and report back. Fwiw it didn't chime or flash up at all on my test run when left enabled.

Just tested this and mine stays off until the car is powered off. This was across various speeds above and below 37 and putting it in park at the lights etc. Left it active on the way back and not a coffee cup in sight despite my attempts not to pay attention 😅.

Ah! That old dodgy dealer fix. Took the bulb out 🤣

They seem to have gotten rid of the software switch to turn off the audio alert and replaced it with a low/med/high sensitivity setting

So cannot silence now?
Correct. So must disable every time you start. The low/med/high sensitivity isn't persistent either so resets to med each time it enables itself i.e when the car is powered on.
As I said above tho, I haven't heard it once in the med setting despite trying to trigger it.

Thanks for testing. Probably as I thought and there is a fault with mine. I did mention it to the garage and they said that they couldn’t fix it and there was a new update coming soon. I guess I’ll wait for that update. In the meantime, it looks like it is leaking fluid over my drive

Do you wear glasses? I’m convinced it doesn’t like my glasses

Well my wife’s car mg4 is Se Sr so is not fitted with the focus warning thank goodness but this last week every 5-10 minutes it goes bong Ice Warning I’m not sure if it means Ice on the road or a fossil fuel vehicle coming the other way. LoL driving us daft so I can sympathise with your lot.
I remember some Trophy models came with none fitted so can it be removed?

No, not a speccy 🤓. Mostly tested after dark. Will try daylight driving tomorrow.

I picked up my new Trophy today, and this isn’t fitted. The part with the lens behind the steering wheel isn’t there.
And I definitely do have the Trophy. Maybe MG have decided that it was a bad idea?
im not going to complain 😅
MG response to the problem, well if we can't fix, then just remove it - sorted !.

The i/R sensor was removed some time back. I took delivery of my Trophy back in December and it doesn't have it - thank goodness! All I get now is a coffee cup icon showing on screen after about 120 miles of continuous, non-stop driving.

Yep, this part just isn’t on my car. Reading back through this conversation and seeing how it’s been driving everyone bananas, I’m very pleased.
It really must have taken the shine off getting a new car for everyone affected.
