MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

I think from your order date you will get a Trophy Connect with Panoramic roof. The Non roof Trophy with Connect features applies to orders after July 1st 2022. Don’t forget of the 11,000 outstanding orders they are only going to make 5 or 6 thousand! Good luck.
@Miles Roberts CG could you please clarify what the situation is with Trophy / Connects ordered in Feb/March

I paid the deposit to MG Richmond in Southampton for the above MG ZS EV in May last year (2022) ,with a promised delivery date in September 2022. It's now February 2023 and I am still waiting. Each week MG Richmond e-mail to say "No delivery date yet".
Is there something MG Richmond Southampton are not doing? Is anyone else having the same experience or is this a record?

In hindsight, if you ordered in May you were never going to receive it in September. The waiting period has been 12 months for some time.
By May 2022 my delivery date had been moved onto November from the original Sept
I ordered in march and should get it later this month (LT trophy)

Afternoon all.

Just reporting in with my status.

Ordered (ZS EV - 130kW Trophy) for lease via Zen-Auto - April 2022, original ETA Sept 22
Set back to Dec, then Jan, now June 23.

Considering peeling off and going elsewhere but got such a great deal going by todays market I'm very reluctant.

Good luck all!

That is almost exactly the same position as me (ordered March 2022)
Original date Sept, then Oct, Nov, Dec, March then June 2023
Now being delivered this month

I see Tarifa Vehicle Carrier has docked in Bristol, let’s hope there are lots of MG cars on it!

My understanding is MG should honour orders with TC‘s/sunroofs etc for orders prior to July, however there seems to have been some on the forum receiving cancellations. It seems to be a lottery if your car arrives or not.

Just had an update from Zen

MG MOTOR UK ZS ELECTRIC HATCHBACK 130kW Trophy EV 51kWh 5dr Auto

We have been able to on this occasion talk directly with MG to understand the delay. MG have advised us they are currently facing significant delays due to oversupply of orders on specific derivatives. The main ones being EVs. MG are working to catch up on delayed deliveries whilst trying to fulfil orders placed both last year and this year, however some vehicles have potential delays of up to 2024.

We understand this is not ideal to hear and we are sorry for the delay.
MG are working in date of each order placed with no one order receiving preferential treatment.

I ordered mine from MG Richmond Southampton in April 2022 cancelled the order last month so you never know one might turn up earlier! I ordered the MG ZS EV LR in Silver if that helps. Unfortunately could not wait any longer. Good luck.

Hi, I'm new here, but thought I would provide a small update I have just been informed of by Octopus Salary Sacrifice and then Confirmed by a chap at MG UK (01217 564864).

I have been told to choose another car as MG are not prioritising the building of MG ZS EVs

I placed an order for one of these cars at the end of December 2021 and have not received it yet.
(MG ZS EV - Trophy Connect Long Range - Black)

The chap at MG was not very helpful and said I was not able to speak with anyone at MG Headoffice only send an email, which I am sure will get me nowhere.

Has anyone else been told this? Do you have any more information?

The suggestion is to consider the MG4.

This is a big disappointment.
Hello, it's me again, and my patiently waiting tactic has paid off.

I received notification from OctopusEV that I have a VIN and my car is coming. I was informed of this on Jan 16, I am "expecting" to take ownership in March 2023.

My original order date was 28th Dec 2021.

Hopefully, this gives some of you some hope. I will update again when I can actually sit in the car on my driveway.

So I've emailed MG again and part of me will be gutted if they reply that it's being built/shipped as I've given up waiting and ordered a ZE50.
This will be my third ZE50 so I know what to expect from them and in some aspects it's a better deal than I was getting on the ZS; £22 a month cheaper and whilst I lose the panoramic roof from the ZS I gain a heated steering wheel which, to be honest, I'd probably get more use out of anyway.
Pretty surprised people are going for a Zoe...

Does anyone know if people who agreed leases say pre May/June 2022 are still receiving their orders?

I ordered Trophy SR on lease April 2022 with a 10k mile allowance. I've seen on this thread people are waiting a lot longer than the 9+ months I've waited currently but I don't receive very informative updates from either the leasing company or the dealership. I don't get much info when I attempt to speak with them either which I've tried enough times.

Originally it was expected Oct, then pushed back to Dec/Jan, but then brought forward to Dec before then going to TBA...?! It seemed really weird as why did they bring it forward only to then go TBA? I innocently asked them if my car had been given to somebody else which both parties have denied but then they haven't really given me a straight answer throughout the entire process.

The leasing company have given me my order number(s). It's actually 2 x order numbers as apparently the person who booked mine in double booked the same spec vehicle.. so I've been given 2 x 3000****** numbers which I can ask about if I find somewhere that can look into it for me...

I've emailed [email protected] a few times this week and also used the contact page on MG website to send a message but I haven't received a response from either. I've even emailed the blooming SAIC email from a google search lol.

Anyone who agreed a lease pre May/June 2022 and have received their MG ZS please let me know so to give me some hope. Having seen the latest email announcement from Vanarama to their customers it's really kicked the stuffing out of me.

I did secure the lease on a very good deal and it makes me question whether it will be honoured? Both the leasing company and the dealership have mentioned that the agreement should be honoured so I'm taking their word for it and I'm waiting until the end whatever happens.

I'll be absolutely devastated if I get f***** over by MG as it'll be a year of my life wasted having been hanging on, which I appreciate lots of you have been doing too. It is going to be my first car through my first business which I've worked so hard on so I saw it as a reward to myself which I very rarely do.

Here's to hoping.
Bit late, but I ordered in Jan 22 & got Moby in August

Random thought I had today - do many orders get through to customers in Feb? I would’ve thought some dealers would just wait until March to put a ‘23 plate on?

I tend to try not crashing my cars.

The NCAP people tested the base model (they had to buy the test car), which didn't have all the bells and whistles required. Renault also changed the side airbags to torso, from head and torso, justifying it by saying that in their research, from real life accidents, they didn't have one side impact accident involving a pole!)

I've no doubt that most cars designed in 2012 would fare badly in current NCAP tests, as they introduce more "safety" gimics every year.

I finally picked up my car (MG ZS EV Trophy LR) earlier this week. I ordered at the end of March 22 so about 10.5 months wait; certainly a bit longer than the 3 month wait I was originally told to expect.

My initial thoughts are:

1. The seats are comfortable (really important),

2. The ride is quite soft (which is fine), almost like a typical American car,

3. The cold weather really kills the range (it is predicting not much over 200 miles off a full charge at the moment at about zero centigrade, I have set the battery heater to come on tomorrow, so I’ll see whether that improves it),

4. There are a few niggles around the settings (satnav, etc.) which I have managed to sort out myself with the aid of some of the comments on here and YouTube.

5. The regenerative braking takes a bit of getting used to (especially as it only comes down when the battery charge drops below about 95%) as do the cruise control, lane assist and various buttons and switches (just different to our other car) but all in all, it is an enjoyable driving experience.

6. Finally, it doesn’t have the typical “new car smell”. Perhaps that is to do with the artificial leather or the type of filters they use in the aircon system…?

NCAP always buy the base model of every car they test, on the grounds that safety should never be optional.

All the best with your new car. I’d be interested to know how your range changes with the battery heater?
