Trophy still supports 3 phase AC charging đź‘Ť

The original UK spec for LR was 7kw only, and was published on their website. I asked Miles on the podcast and he confirmed 7kw only, 11kw was for continental Europe. Then lo and behold 11kw was delivered to the UK even though to this day the website still says 7kw...go figure that out

Yes, exactly, the original published spec was a mistake.

And it still is...

I am only seeing here the times for specific charge rates, it doesn't say anything about the max charge rate there. In the manual it is clear from the specs of the motor/inverter combinations that the SR is 7kW and LR 11kW. They might have intended a separate combination for the UK but didn't go ahead with it.

Edit: in case you are wondering why I have more faith in the manual, that's because it is normally the engineers that get to write that, whereas the marketing bumf is usually someone well removed from the details.

6.6kW actually (from a nominal 7kW charge point). :)

I usually see 6.4kW minimum (in the MG app) when charging, with the charge point app showing 6.8 or 6.9kW. :)

I notice that my Trophy does not have the pins needed for 3 phase AC charging , has this facility now been removed so that all cars can only accept single phase 7kw charging ?
Bought mine in Oct 2022, it has 3 phase pins fitted as standard. 3 phase pins gives you a faster charge option.

What we are trying to determine is what build date did they possibly revert to single phase on LR. We seem to be focusing in on Dec/Jan onward builds. This is on the basis it did revert to 7kwh. If true then yours would be well before that date so đź‘Ť

Mine was Dec 20th 2022, Trophy, and is definitely 11kw. It can be difficult to see the metal at the rear of the pins, I have noticed that some charge ports are more obvious than others.

On closer inspection I now think all my pins are in fact metal so maybe it is 11 kw after all.
