I can see this from many viewpoints. If you’ve purchased a Tesla one of the main reasons may have been the wonderful supercharger network, which you’ve indirectly paid for , would you want to have it used by all and have to wait to charge your car? From Tesla viewpoint they’ve spent millions on the supercharger network and it’s part of their selling package and one of their big usp’s - should they be punished for being forward thinking? From the none Tesla EV owner - what would they pay to get in this exclusive club? If it became a public system for all would it rapidly go downhill ? Maybe it will happen? I’m sure there have been discussions. It would of course impact Tesla sales and help the competition too. Other manufacturers would love to say they have access to it. Personally I would like to see a real push to get the existing public charger infrastructure improved and high standards and cost controls introduced to bring as much confidence in using this as Tesla owners have in the current Tesla network.
