ECU Module version spreadsheet

Cheers Mike

Coincidence, I only realised a few days ago the spreadsheet was a picture rather than an actual spreadsheet that folk could search/sort.
I've put a link in now to it on my dropbox, so it's downloadable

Slightly off subject, but.
Have you guys found a command that can be issued to keep the OBD2 port alive, without setting the alarm off?

What program are you using to open this file, please? My laptop is having problems!

I'm a mac man......so its the mac spreadsheet format, I'd have thought most programs should be able to open it....
I did get someone else to check they could open it after I posted it..

It's took a while but I finally hit the 449v a few days ago. However only got the data pulled off today (can't wait to get home syndrome at end of working day).
This shows nicely how the charge is all a mess!
Your voltage has gone from 443.0 to 448.25 yet your SOC has gone from 93.5 to 92.8!

It's kinda what i've been saying though, the SOC is based on the highest cell voltage not the total voltage.

Give it a few more charges to definitely get totally sorted out, then get your figures again.

I've got 18 lots of data after full 100% charges and there's no consistent SOC/Voltage!!

Thanks. I'll do a search on t'internet and see how to open it up on a Windows laptop 😉

Thanks Septian - I've converted the sheet so it can be opened with Excel for those members who are using Windows and added in my data. I've attached the spreadsheet in a .zip file as the system won't allow me to attach an Excel file!

Thanks JodyS21, for all your hard work. It's quite enlightening to see all the different versions!

it had another 1hr to do a balance but i had to leave earlier than normal.

I could balance it now while im off work today... yep ill go plug it in lol. First charge i've had to pay for in a while.

Oh no, don't charge it up and pay if you can help it lol.

Look at my varying figures:

I cannot spot any reason why it doesn't always charge to the exact same voltage and/or SOC, recently I'm capturing a bit more data when I can of start/end charge time and balance - to try to figure it out.
I need to get all 9 cell voltages I think maybe to figure it out.

I've exported it as an excel xlsx.
I'll do this every time I update it so it's in both formats :)

Going into Frasers of Falkirk tomorrow for passenger mirror and rear washer issue, I will ask them to update the BMS and check it when I get home and let you know what it is changed to👍

Haha I've no idea, all I remembered was to check the BMS version 🤣 wonder what the VCU version change does.
I really don't know what the VCU could do, it's a pretty generic term 'Vehicle Control Unit' so there's no hint even. Keep your eyes peeled for any differences!

Thanks Dave. You and Septian will have moved from the BMS we all had, so it will be nice to see what, if any differences, there will be. Also, you and I share the same dealer, so I can use you as a point of reference if I want to update my BMS 😁

I had to go into the city centre today, not sure if it was just me, but car felt "smoother" to drive, it's hard to put my finger on it, I'll have more time to notice any changes when I'm back to work next week (school half-term at the moment, so I'm daddy daycare, yay )

The solution we have right now is to not talk to the BCM (Body Controller) as any messages to it will set off the alarm on UK/EU spec cars. Thai cars are a lot less fussy.

We are testing authentication methods but so far we have had no luck.

Well I plugged it in but I don't trust my Pod-Point to balance properly... as it only hit 93.2% and only put 1.2kw into the car even though I was down 2 bars.
I was at Full battery this morning according to the GOM however.
Truly doubt i had fully balanced.

Currently doing first full charge and balance after updating, will be interesting to see how long the balance is and what the details are afterwards

Went into Frasers of Falkirk, spoke about the BMS update, they are not interested in updating it if they have not had notification from MG that my VIN requires it ( I bid read that MG UK have either contacted or in the process of contacting any customers who had the faulty BMS), they were not prepared to discuss which BMS I had and which one I should have, if it did not have the October BMS there is no problem😠, so battery still at 450/470v, also if you are thinking of taking out the service contract, don't go for the cheaper option as altho MG seem to think the only difference to the service is the delay of replacing parts in the 10000-mile service which make it cheaper the Dealers seem to have made their minds up that it will be a far smaller service with many of the normal service checks missing including diagnostic checks, which I was not happy about, I have bitten the bullet and gone for the 5-year service plan, which will protect my costs for the five years.
