MG ZS EV Servicing Costs

If it's easy to swap out a battery, do you think there's a danger of battery theft. One of the many reasons I went EV is because of the rise in catalytic converted thefts on ICE vehicles.

I received the 3yr free service plan documents today which gives a breakdown of costs.
Standard Services
Service : Service Date : Approx. Mileage : Total
Year 1 Jul 2021 15000 £72.00
Year 2 Jul 2022 30000 £137.32
Year 3 Jul 2023 45000 £72.00
It doesn't say whether it includes VAT or not.

Which main dealer quoted you these prices?

Do MG UK guarantee after year 7 a minimum battery capacity - and is this comparable to say the Nissan Leaf promise ? I cant seem to find anything on the website just says its covered.
I don't know about the UK, but in the Netherlands we have an 8 year battery warranty for 70% capacity. Expected capacity loss is around 1,6 percent per year

I believe there's a coolant change at some point for the battery pack, but not sure where I herd or read that.?‍♂️

Did the new cars include a 3yr service as part of the deal with home charger and cable.?

I asked my dealer about service and was surprised by cost but I thing I was quoted ICE prices.

As part of the sales pitch was told you save on service cost whitch will off set the higher vehicle cost compared to ICE car prices??

This is what i found at the MG website. So the first 15000 mile service should be limited to a software update (not essential). But could be half an hour work.

Coolant costs arount 10 GBP/EUR a liter and takes about half an hour. The batteries, pollen filter, brake fluid takes half an hour max.. So it should costs about 100 to 200 BGP/EUR. lowest and highest.

Conveniently, for the dealers, 3 years doesn't cover the coolant change, which is on the 4th year and is the most expensive service.

Also if you read further down it says that if you have your car serviced by MG dealers you’ll be entitled to another 12 month of AA road assistance for free...have I read this right?

Hi Folks,
To avoid any confusion I will suggest each of you visit the MG site and create an individual service plan. I think it is a uniform plan and is valid for all authorised service plan dealerships in the UK. So my understanding is that the service plan agreement is with MG UK and not your Dealership.
Here are some pics.

It's not uniform, it asks for you to choose a dealer, then the quotation is based on the chosen dealers labour rates, so they vary. When I did the exercise the lower cost services came out at £95, as this is my local dealers rate.

You're misunderstanding the chart, the service is still every 12 months, it's just that no parts or fluids are changed in years 1,3,5 etc. They will just visually inspect the car and plug in the diagnostic for your service fee, you know... effectively nothing, lol!! But you do get any (free anyway) mandatory software updates done, another years basic AA cover and a teddy bear thrown in :)

I realy hope they wash the car as well. Most importantly.. The car and battery warranty requires it.

lol!! I insist that the dealer doesn't wash my car whenever I have to take it in. We learned the hard way on the wife's car a couple of years back, it took a professional detailer and £200 to remove the micro scratching a dealers "wash guy" caused all over, and rectify the paintwork! The dealer wasn't happy as it cost them more than the service they'd just done. It got very acrimonious and needed a letter from my solicitor before they'd play nice. So, trust me, if you're particular about your paintwork, it's just too much potential grief letting any dealer wash your car.
