EV Watchdog for MG EV

So, finally out...

v1.7 is now available on the playstore and should support the MG ZS EV, although still a bit experimental.

By experimental I mean some things might be missing or not functioning completely and it may not support all variations of the MG ZS EV.

Premium release is still at v1.6 but shouldn't take long to upgrade to v1.7.

Waiting for feedback :)

From your profile I see you are driving a MG5... This App supports only the MG ZS at the momment.

Thanks for advising, i see the thread title EV Watchdog for MG EVand thought it worked across the board.
Let's hope it gains support for mg5s.

Hi; connected OBD Bluetooth without any issues and got the first reading (see screenshots). It seems not all readings are showing, will compare with app screens...explained under FAQ.

Check the list on the website: EV Watchdog Android monitoring App

Personally I would recommend only one the OBD Link LX, pricey but the best one by far.
I looked at your web site and note that you recommend the OBDLink LX and then I see that need version 4.7.4 (June 2020). I asked a question on Amazon and got the reply "Firmware updates are available via the obdlink phone software " so can I safely order from Amazon, it doesn't give a version number in the description?

These are OBD2 monitoring apps which will display live data from the OBD2 interface as well as calculate instant and long term stats keeping record of all trips and battery condition changes.
Hi Daniel, where are the long term stats kept? Does each driver need to install the app?

Thanks Daniel, I have ordered my OBDLink LX from Amazon, downloaded the EV Watchdog app and will test with the free version, then upgrade to the paid version. Thanks for your efforts.

Just about to order the OBFLink LX and then noticed it said incompatible with Hybrid or EVs!!
Is this the correct one I'm looking at?

Amazon product ASIN B00H9S71LW

Top Tip is this EV Watchdog! I tried a couple of OBDII Bluetooth Dongles and the first I tried was a basic Clone ELM 327 and although it paired the EV Watchdog couldn't recognise the vehicle.
The second a more expensive "Konnwel" Bluetooth OBDII paired and recognised the MGZSEV and read off all the key data especially pleased to see SoC percentage and Ah. Disappointed though to find one cell #61 indicated RED and significantly below the average although #60 was up there with the best #62 was Green and a little higher than #61 and # 63 a little higher than #62 and so over the adjacent 11 cells ramping up to normal level.
Having proof of concept with the FREE version, I must get a screen capture, then do a Ballance charge overnight, and check again. Maybe have a conversation with the dealer but I will also check out what I get with the PAID FOR VERSION.
Question: Can this App be made display on the AndroidAuto?

Yes, no problem. Firmware update is done through they're own App.

Stats are kept per car and Android device.
For the premium version you are allowed to sync data to the webserver which will consolidate all trips and battery cards per car.

Thanks. I encourage everyone to try extensively the free version before going for the premium one.

Free version is totally functional.
Here are the extended features of the premium one: EV Watchdog Android monitoring App
