It's like any other car. With a standard rental trailer with grids around it I went from maybe 1.5kWh/10km to 2kWh/10km when doing 80km/h. I would prefer a trailer without brakes to regenerate more. It works fine, but you can feel that you are towing something. Thinks one without brakes acts better.
For me the secret is to close the driver door before pressing the brake. If I do that I can put it in drive at once and go, long before the system has booted. Try it! Sit, close door, press brake. Turn knob to D and go.
I was also annoyed the car would not go into ready mode at first sometimes. Then it took a lot of brakepressing/waiting before going into ready mode.
But there is just one simple trick to it: Close the door BEFORE pushing the brake and it goes to ready real fast. That's it!
I think we payed 18kSEK for the TOW-bar in November (almost 1400 pounds), added to car price. Still not available in Sweden :( Don't know if it will be detachable or not.
