As a counter to this. I am a reasonably high mileage driver 20000 a year. My increase in electricity and my loan repayment costs less than my old fuel bill (previous Kia ceed 1.6 diesel estate vs mg ev5) and in 2 yrs I’ll own the ev5 so gets a much better deal then. Plus insurance, tax, service...

2 yrs old 30000mile service SOH was 98%. Mainly 80mile return commute over the Brecon Beacons. And mainly charged at home.

Long range was given a weight rating and works well. Seem to remember short range originally being no rating then later getting a 30kg rating. Hopefully someone will confirm for you.

Has anyone got these on their ev5? or found some that would work? actually any improvement on efficiency?

Had mine done today. Ended up paying a service plan for next 3 yrs. £430 for this year and next 2 years.

Mines booked in for 2nd service 30000 for £210 next week.

Work shifts 2 days 2 nights 4 days off and commute 80miles return for each of those shifts. April may June was mostly solar only. Been a bit dismal the last couple of months though.

I thought it was the long range exclusive has 75kg roof weight limit. the standard range had a lower limit. Good family car. Fits me the mrs the baby and the Labrador in and have done a few camping trips with it to. A squeeze compared to old van but deff manageable.

Some are deff a higher risk than others (but recalls on many of the supposedly better names) and maintenance can indeed reduce the risk. But still one of the highest risks in the home.

Can’t go on octopus go as use octopus agile export for solar. Also I’m a fire fighter. So very strongly recommend against using tumble dryers over night.

Guessed it was going to happen sooner or later and can’t blame tescos for it. But does make me wonder what’s the point of the 7kw chargers now as local Tesco has a 90min time limit. So would only get 10kw top up max
