I think you are bang on here.
It is all very well having gimmicky extras but the best way of attracting and keeping new users would be to have a standardised procedure for starting the charging process, monitoring the charging and then providing clear information about what charging has been...
Hard luck and welcome to the club, although you will probably find that most of the Forum topics on MG4 glass concern windscreen replacements (including my own thread) and the complications of having to have cameras etc recalibrated.
I would suggest you shop around and get prices from Autoglass...
See the thread I posted entitled "Windscreen Replacement".
I had to have a new screen in May and it took 3 weeks then for Auto Windscreens to obtain one from MG.
The fitting was very straightforward and quick but the calibration was the headache.
Auto Windscreens said they would recalibrate but...
Update:
Firstly, apologies that my previous references to Autoglass should have been to Auto Windscreens.
After Auto Windscreens had been out a second time to recalibrate the new windscreen, it was booked into the MG Dealer who did the recalibration. I had to pay the MG Dealer for the work but...
I'm not saying that Go is as cheap as Intelligent but even 9.5p is a good deal less than the standard rate.
As for the "dead" phone I'd have thought that should not have happened. After all, App settings don't normally change just because you switch off your phone or put it in airplane mode.
I...
I have a WaEV charger (Model 1i) and Octopus Go.
As someone said elsewhere, unless you do a considerable amount of mileage, topping it up each evening using the WaEv 1i and Octopus Go would seem to be a sensible plan. The App that comes with the WaEV allows Smart Charging and should recognise...
I spoke too soon !
A few days after the dealer installed updated software (mainly to address the LKA issue) with apparent success, Autoglass insisted on coming out to recalibrate.
They did this and it reverted to the same condition that it was in the last time they came !
So it has to go back...
As it happened, the recalibration involved uploading software and only 75% of the software update would load and it would then stop.
Coincidentally, the car was booked in for other software issues so this reinforced the fact that all was not as it should have been.
So the car went in for the...
Switching off every drive appears to be the default position for MG and this system.
In my case, even when the LKA was switched OFF at the start of a drive, it turned itself ON midway through a drive which was in itself a safety hazard.
Hopefully the latest software update will at least prevent...
The reinstall process was lengthy as I gather that they had to go back to MG in China several times.
So this issue can probably be described as a "work in progress" and I think that you are right to take an "if it isn't broken, don't fix it" approach.
However, when they eventually catch up with...
My MG4 Trophy went into the Dealer for the second time last week to try and sort out the LKA issues (over-reactive veering and the LKA switch turning itself back on during a trip even though it had been turned off.
This time the car was in for a 2 day software update and (touch wood) now appears...
Happy to update that the cracked windscreen has now been replaced by AutoWindscreens.
There was a 3 week wait for the screen to arrive and when it was fitted they had to bring in one of their 9 UK specialist fitters in order to do the recalibration (due to the cameras being situated behind the...
