A number of people have spotted rhe manual note that the traction battery will charge the 12V battery if it gets low.
If it gives you any confidence, I have left .my car in an airport car park for three weeks with no ill effects.
Just to summarise my previous messages:
340 miles from Dieppe to La Rochelle, mainly 70-80mph motorways. Started with zero battery miles (don't ask!), so virtually all on petrol, but self charging resulted in enough battery miles to finish the journey in EV mode. Result 49 mpg
175 miles from...
I seem to remember messages here where members have posted about versions R62 and R66 although they could be the European and British versions of the same software.
This is then compounded by the most recent screenshots of 2026 cars showing versions R12 and R16 🤷♂️
Have you spotted that you can manually change from EV to HEV mode in the infotainment system?
This can be a distraction when doing 70mph on a busy motorway so many of us have set one of the customising buttons to do this.
In the recent cold weather the car has regularly started in HEV mode to...
My car's first service was two weeks ago and no update was applied. The system is running version R55 and everything has worked fine, so I'm actually pleased they didn't play with it and introduce any foibles.
I've had my car since May last year and I have had absolutely no issues with the radio. I've travelled from the Midlands regularly into Newhaven, Brighton and Portsmouth without any loss of the signal.
I'm not sure that this is going to help you but I have a Hypervolt with a different energy supplier. I have the same issue if I start a charge during a dark evening, however I recently noticed the lights do not come on when my charger comes on at 1am for a scheduled charge. 🤷
Put yourself in the shoes of a company car driver. You take the eHS for the super low Benefit in Kind tax rate, but you never charge it because you have a company fuel card that pays for your petrol, but not your electricity.
For ten years I was driving company cars and the first three of the six different cars were cast offs from people who had left the firm, so for 150,000 miles I had no choice and no chance of a test drive.
Well done Tucky, mine's in for it's first service on Monday and I've had no issues.
Anybody can pay double the money for a Mercedes GLC hybrid to obtain the same quality, space and battery range to have similar infotainment frustrations and poor dealer service.
I know, our son did exactly that...
I'm an old guy, what's wrong with string backed gloves? 😎
No point in running the battery down, or forcing the ICE to start, when there are more eco alternatives.
Have you spotted that there is a tab in the infotainment system to switch the auto main beam on and off?
I switched mine off and at one point it came back on by itself.
