Thats not how a torque curve works though? It would just taper off. This reapplies the torque after the step. Interesting, as long as its not a sign the transmission is about to explode ill relax.

Hi, I always assumed the MG4 (trophy LR) was single speed but got new tyres installed a few weeks and now i notice foot down acceleration from junctions, at 35/40mph there is a clear step/gear change. Im confident it isn’t slip. Is the Trophy 2 speed gearbox? Edit; just found a forum post...

It was sorted by turning on and off the charging schedule. It was turning charging off at 6am. I’ve never used the scheduled charging so wasn’t my first tgought.

How many physical keys did you get with your MG4? Not the fobs, the physical metal keys. One per fob or one per car? Trying to figure out if Ive lost one.

I had an issue after the software updates at the first service. The onboard charger was set to a specific charge time 22.00-6.00. The real issue was the car and app all said it was turned off. I turned the feature on and off in both the car and app. That seemed to sort it.
