Thanks, Kiwi. That is both interesting and helpful! I've written to the Director of Roads at Transport Scotland (that's the agency in Scotland responsible for trunk roads and the like) to ask if he can shed any light on this. I wish I'd known about the microwave frequencies before writing. But...
Interesting! There's obviously something interfering with the car's electronics but there's little opportunity to investigate on the motorway. I think I may write to the Director of Roads at Transport Scotland to ask if some roadside infrastructure may be causing the problem.
@Grahamjack52 Hi Graham. I thought you might like to know that on Friday I experienced another MG Pilot outage going north on the M90 on the long left bend just before the St. Andrews turn-off. It came as quite a surprise as I've not had this since May so it took a moment to register precisely...
@Grahamjack52 Graham - I've now had 2 journeys up and down that stretch of the A90 and never had the problems we both experienced in May. So, whatever it was seems to have disappeared. I'm assuming that it must have been a road sensor thingy that was broadcasting on a frequency that interfered...

Graham. I've been studying Google Street View but can't find the roadside sensor I mentioned in my post - of course, it may have been installed since Google photographed the road. However, I did notice a couple of small aluminium or galvanised steel roadside boxes on both sides of the motorway...
Hi Graham. This also happened to me yesterday morning (just around 10am) going north on the M90 just after the Kinross turn off and again a couple of miles further on. It also happened a couple of weeks ago one evening probably at the same locations but it was dark and I couldn't be certain they...
I agree with Tim. I think it's a "safety feature" to prevent the door being opened while the car is "on". Pulling the handle twice overrides the feature - at least this is how we get it to work.
Hi. Last week I took delivery of my new 2nd Gen ZS EV Long Range (with panoramic roof!) and since then I’ve had no end of problems trying to register my phone number or email address on iSmart. And then when I did manage to register it, I couldn’t get the app on my phone to bind with the...
