Not tried it, as I push the door button or the remote when the button does not work, but is it not possible to turn it off with the App after you are inside?
Went for a bit of a trip today, up to Ipswich and back home.
Generally am liking the Xpower.
One thing did stand out though, the ACC is not as good as other systems I have used. A couple of times it suddenly decelerated due to a car approaching in the other lane. Then there is the drop in...
The person who told me about this was in a slow ex-military Land Rover in the UK. He had been tail-gated by a boy racer, and had tried to give him the hint. Eventually he did the Convoy Switch maneuver and the idiot buried himself into the back, with the hitch going through the radiator.
He got...
A bit off topic, but historic military vehicles often have a "convoy" switch. Engaging that will dim most of the lights and disable brake lights. It was to make vehicles less visible at night.
Apparently it can also be used (probably not legally) when being tailgated. I have heard of the convoy...
What @ReintjeWA is correct.
I removed the Black Plastic mount plate. The Reg was originally mounted at the top but I lowered it to the base. Then mounted the lights on the top half. I did not see any sensors behind the mount.
Last night I did not notice any changes to the operation of the...
My LED Lightbar has arrived and I bought some other bits from local suppliers (wire, connectors etc.)
Today I got the bar mounted, to see if it would fit OK and make sure it does not interfere with the forward camera. All seems OK.
I have been searching YT for answers to changing the menu to RHD.
When I first connected it was LHD then without any adjustment it went to RHD and now back to LHD.
I have seen Carplay Video's for other makes where this is an option in the settings but cannot find it in the MG menu's. I did find...
When talking to the original owner he said that he had only charged above 80% a few times, and this was on a DC Rapid Charger when doing a longer trip.
I imagine that means the battery has never been balanced. Today I hope to do just that. The sun is out today, so plenty of solar.
Had to go...
What speed are you driving on this trip?
In my Mazda I could get over 1100km from a single 50l tank. This was an economy of under 4l/100km, which was far below the published economy of 4.7l/100km. I would achieve this by minimal use of brakes, no rapid acceleration and keeping the speed below...
There are a nice set of Esses locally, where the road went under a rail bridge. The bridge is long gone but the curves remain. This section of road has an 80kph speed limit. It is a section of road I quite like to push a car though. The hard thing is to not have any vehicles in front when...
Two sides to this coin.
Statistically conventional ICE cars catch fire at a much higher proportion than EV’s.
How and ever, when a lithium battery goes into thermal runaway they are very difficult to extinguish. This is because they produce oxygen as part of the combustion.
Very true @ilukey77
I must admit I did not know if driving an EV in the semi rural area where I live. Having read about them I thought it would be OK but when I had the chance to have a hire car I got an EV to use. I had it for about 8 weeks.
Was it different?, Yes it was.
The performance, in...
I have just bough a '23 Xpower which has been well looked after.
Having had two Polestar 2's as a hire cars I decided that to replace my Mazda I would get an AWD EV. Was not looking at Tesla at all due to the Elon factor (but there were some cheap ones available). The three I was searching were...
I know what you mean. Quite a few times I have told people I have got an EV. They ask if it's a Hybrid. When I tell then No, it's all electric, they have said "Brave move" or similar. I really do not see the point of Hybrids TBH. Carrying two sets of power components and then converting energy...
I must not have had OPD on before, thought I had selected it but maybe it switched off before I started. The OPD is the way I like it. Pity it cannot default ON.
I am not used to driving Sludgomatic cars and this just feels wrong. I guess I will have to try to remember to put it in OPD each time.
The Polestar 2 had a setting to turn the "Creep Mode" on. It stayed off while I had it. At least it's OK when going.
The one thing which I find VERY irritating is that when the D mode is engaged, without putting any pressure on the accelerator, the car creeps forward. I know this is what Sludgomatic transmissions do due to the torque converter running, but this does not have a transmission. So I am assuming it...
I looked at a few reviews for Co Light LED bars, and those I have seen look OK. They are cheap enough. If they are no good they can be easily replaced, fitting and mounting the wiring is the hardest bit. Will add some pics of the installation when I do it.
My service is only a few weeks away but it will be before the 2 year mark. So it should not make a difference. I assume that certain items will drop out at anniversaries (as the actress said to the bishop)
A little progress today.
I have ordered a Co Light LED 20" Lightbar + Wiring Kit. Should be here in about a week.
The Reg Plate was fitted at the top of the bracket, I have now shifted it to the base of the bracket. This leave enough room above to fit the lightbar and should not obstruct the...
I will be looking for tyres soon, as well as a 24 month service. Previous owner was going to fit tyres and have it serviced before sale, but negotiated a $1k lower prices as is. I would prefer to select my own rubber.
@MG Clive the Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 6 are listed as "EV Ready" here in Australia.
