I have the same phone and it does not work ... well it works intermittently. Also using the original cable .. :(

@mystreet thanks for the suggestion, I have tried the 50p leads as well. It just seems to work somethimes and not the others. Never works as soon as i get in the car, but if i try say after about 15mins of driving it might work. Really bizzare.
