The car can connect to wifi, I have mine connected to the house wifi that is fairly strong on the driveway and don't have many issues with Ismart apart from it being a bit slow (but the mercedes me app is not much better and isn't free). Maybe the wifi connection helps when you're remote

Yeah, this is what I was going to suggest, if the timer is on the car, then it will lock when you lock the car, whereas, if you have the timer on the charger, then it won't register that it is plugged in so won't lock. I think they have the Mk1 which i'm not sure if it has the timer in the car

I think you can lock it manually on the screen in the charging settings, there is a lock symbol (at least there is on the Mk2). I think it locks when it establishes connection with the charger. Do you have a timer on the charger or use the car's timer?

Sometimes as you say it doesn’t show 0% when stopped but not on auto hold. I find that the percentage is a bit arbitrary. If you look at the amps, they don't always seem to line up to the same percentage each time at each speed. But when stopped not on auto hold the amps are at or near zero so...

If this doesn't work, there is a new software update. It will fix the incorrect date and the inability to turn it off as well as the erroneous 'maintain vehicle now' message. Ask next time you have a service to update the head unit software. It is a known issue so they should understand. I think...
