Hopefully a final update. After still more equalisation / balancing charges I went to a fast charger today. From the maximum 25 kW during the journey home in January, today reached a max of almost 70kW. I had heated the battery, the ambient temperature was 17 C and the initial SOC was 30%...
Hallo Nej,
Yes, I do have a progress report. The situation is not fully resolved but is improving. I have now balance charged with my granny charger about 20 times, leaving the car connected for up to 48 hours (remembering to cancel scheduled charging).
Initially the car fast-charged at a...
Update: At the dealer yesterday. They spent a day with the car, speaking to MG along the way. They do not have a CCS charger on site and did not use one during the day. They did observe some problems with the HV battery and asked me to balance charge it multiple times, including leaving it on...
Thanks for your thoughts. I did balance charge before the journey and at the first 2 of 3 overnight hotel stops. I'm booked into my dealer on 21/1 (they offered earlier but I am out of the country).
I just made my first really long trip - 2000 km x 2. I found ABRP to be a great planning tool, allowing the most efficient charging. The price is very reasonable and you can end the subscription at any time (after the trip) and recommence for the next trip.
My ZS is almost 2 years old. During a 2000 km trip from France to Portugal, over 4 days, the car initially performed normally at CCS chargers, charging at up to 62kW. After a charge on day 3 at a BP Pulse Iberdrola charger, the Bluetooth stopped working (Wired and dongle). At the next charge and...
Update: Drove from Portugal to French Alps and back so was able to try Tesla chargers outside Portugal. To my surprise and delight - my car does charge on Tesla! 2023 (bought early 2024) ZS EV LR.
I have had good results with leaving poor reviews on sites such as Trust Pilot. I found this surprising at first, but more than once now a company which had not provided the service or support as they are required to do and refused to engage properly with me, have completely changed after a...
For me, the proof of the pudding was simply to buy an adapter or cable and test the V2L live. Certainly the adapters are cheap enough (Amazon). Mine (Portugal 2023 ZS EV Lux) V2L worked and was subsequently very useful in a widespread power cut!
I had a look today. For me (2023 ZS EV LR Lux), the only need to scan a QR was not for activation but for Login to my account. (Re)activation was just a question of pressing the on-screen button.
My ZS is regularly 'Requiring Activation' - not sure why but possibly poor GSM signal around my Portuguese home. The car remains bound, the only consequence is that some functionality is lost until I (re) activate - for example: stored routes. I only know the activation has become 'undone' when...
Looking for advice / experiences when taking our ZS EV from sunny Portugal to the French Alps for wintersport. Advice, tips and recommendations for winter tyres (specific type, TPMS problems?) and any other wisdom would be appreciated.
