System Fault 12V battery low and car doesn't start

Will check that out when we get home. Cheers and yeah, agree with logic that 💯

System Fault 12V battery low and car doesn't start

Ok, why then would my mg5 shut down the charging and disconnect with the 12v showing only 12v charge on the display and system warnings flagging up paralysing the car - the only thing we had going was the ac and a radio. Genuinely interested in understanding why that happened. Also to note we...

System Fault 12V battery low and car doesn't start

Ah so in the mg5 (pre facelift) the ac and heater only work when the blowers on to move the air through it so if you use the ac/heater while charging on a rapid presumably the blower, required to move the air around is what drains the 12V system, because the HV system whilst in charge mode...

System Fault 12V battery low and car doesn't start

Car was initially’ready’ after plugging in for the rapid and it tethering successfully but I think the issue was the drain on the aux was more than the trickle charge via rapid charging & it’s winter so the aux has been under pressure for the last three months - it like an ice would behave I...

System Fault 12V battery low and car doesn't start

We had a similar issue at a rapid, family in the car waiting while we charged, had the aircon going, radio on and the car just turned off, disconnected the charger and wouldn’t restart to readiness. My wife looked up on ChatGPT and it suggested turning the car off, then back on but with the...

USB disk identification failure on iPhone

Also worth taking a dish sponge (the slightly abrasive spontex type) to the ends of the cable too- that was my issue, worked like a dream after all dried off. The lightning connector elements are shocking for crud building up over time.

    IONITY

I’ve found with my mg5 exclusive, it’s quite fussy about being completely switched off while you plug in, and sometimes a locking of the car soon as you plug in, can help push the car’s communication with the charger. Prior to that my experience with some chargers was ‘sub-optimal’. No idea if...

rear wiper water leak under vin windscreen window.

Mine went over the new year(2024/5) period, following advice above and using little more than the plastic ice scraper to pry the column housing away carefully, clipping the retaining plastic tie at the top and carefully withdrawing it from the bottom, the hose had clearly decoupled. By the look...

    IONITY

Turns out I’d misread the instructions. IONITY, of course different for pretty much most other chargers in that you HAVE to sort the payment/activate the app BEFORE you plug in. Took me a little while for my dyslexic brain to make sense of that if I’m honest. I’ll know next time!🤦‍♂️

    IONITY

Issue resolved; as per message further into the thread, with ionity you have to activate/pay before plugging in not after, like most other charger units/providers. Original message [I’ve really just one word… IONITY. Is it me or does mg5 just not like the IONITY chargers? …]

Mg5 facelift model Vs preface lift

I had the same dilemma but in the end the extra 10k for the facelift version just so I could do things through an app, and it look a bit prettier just wasn’t worth the extra spend. 3months down the line and I love the older prefacelift mg5. Time will tell how it lasts but it’s doing exactly...

    Fine Control of Power Windows

I find, at least for the driver, if you open the nearside rear 3-4inches and the driver’s side a bit more you get a lovely circulation around the car without too much noise (uk rhd vehicle)

    Roof rack

Agreed, it is important to make sure anything in the roof box is secured and can’t move around otherwise it can shift when driving and upset the safe handling of the car too.

    Roof rack

My understanding is they can take a total combined weight of up to 75kg. So I do limit what I load in but I suspect that’s the same for most roof rails to be honest. Certainly you need to take care not to overload because it affects handling and cornering for obvious reasons. I’ve a Thule roof...
