    MG4 in Australia

Chris, Could you provide information on the Dutton Group. I am interested in the MG4 and my existing MGZSEV is about the same as yours was. Cliff

    Charging update

Solution: Threw the Powerline extender into the bin and bought eero extenders. Works perfectly with no interference with the charging of the car. Another mystery solved.

    Charging update

Fortunately for me, the resolution is simple. I disconnect my wifi extender while I charge and reconnect when charged. A permanent solution is being devised as we speak.

    Charging update

My 32amp circuit (7kw) is seperate to my granny circuit, but it was explained to me that they both attach to the buss. Although I have three phase on my home, all of the circuits in use are attached to a single phase.

    Charging update

Several weeks ago I posted an issue with my 2021 ZS EV. Briefly, the car refused to charge on my 7kw home charger and my granny charger. Took the car to the dealer for assistance and to get my second annual service. The dealer serviced the car and updated the BMS and OBC (on board charger)...

MG ZS EV Battery charging issue

I have a 2021 MG ZS EV that is now coming up to two years old. Currently it has 30,000 kilometers on the clock and is due for its second service in a few weeks. Normally I charge at home using a 32 amp circuit. My charger allows me to select the amperage for the charge - I nearly always...

    Charging practice

Thanks Miles, The information you provided was very useful. It appears the vehicles are about the same age but I have done about twice the milage. It appears that my 5% loss is comparable to your 3% given the milage difference. I live on the Central Coast of NSW, we don't have the heat you...

    Battery performance

Thanks Cocijo, The car is used every day by my better half. Normally she only travels to between 120 and 200 kms. It will be handy to charge to 100% from time to time (on a more regular basis) to assist with home charging. Some days the sun refuses to play and it would be nice to have a...

    Charging practice

I have had my ZSEV for nearing two years. I have always charged the car at home and generally to 80-88%. Over the two year period (35000 kms) I have balanced the battery about one a month. Yesterday after the balance the car registered 251 Kms (N) and 263 (E). I have read on this forum that some...

    Battery degradation

I live on the Central Coast of NSW and I have owned my ZSEV since April 2021. Early in its life I was using it for casual short trips, but since the price of fuel has skyrocketed, my wife has taken a fancy to it and drives it daily. Currently it has 22000 km. She is a little more aggressive...

    Battery degradation

I have had my 20-21 MG ZS EV now for 12months (15000 kms). I have noticed that after a full charge and a balance I now have 257 kms range showing (not the 263). I was expecting a reduction, but was not sure of how much. Has anyone else noticed a range reduction similar to this?

    Slow Charger 230V 6A current consumption-Solar Inverter

Charging a car at home depends on so many variables. How far do you have to travel in an day? How long can you charge during the availability of your solar input? Based on your numbers to provide 200kms of charge, you will have to charge for about 33 hours. So much depends on your usage...

    Slow Charger 230V 6A current consumption-Solar Inverter

I bought a third party charger capable of setting amps from 8, 12,15,25 to 32. Our domestic system here is 240volts 10amps. Had a new 32 amp circuit put in to allow me to use a charger at home. I have constantly use the charger on 15 amps. That allows me to charge the vehicle at 20km range...

    Breather pipe

Given what you have just said, which sounds reasonable, on closer inspection the black pipe has an opening for perhaps pressure release. But, the gold post does not seem to have an opening, unless it is designed to give way when excessive pressure exists. Gold post people might be able to confirm.
