Ended up deciding I don’t need a Gr Yaris and a XPower.
Decision helped by getting my hands on a BMW iX1 MSport for the same cost as a Xpower through my salary sacrifice scheme.
The BMW will arrive in around a month.
Good luck with your cars folks. Quite a few up in my neck of the woods so...
I’ve driven one, looking likely I’ll get one, but it’s not in the hot hatch category for me.
Driving dynamics define a “proper” hot hatch, not big engines or big power.
Also the purist in me says a hot hatch should have 2 less doors.
Having been spoiled by Renaultsports finest over the years...
I’m actually now heading this way - GR Yaris and XPower two car garage. XP my daily and GRY my weekend fun.
Tusker costs have come down to £339 / month net (including main dealer services / 3 years /7500 miles/green paint/insurance/ tyres).
Looked at many alternatives and nothing comes within...
This is a big risk of a mass manufacturer of reasonably mundane, family cars branching into sports cars (on what sounds like a small scale) - the service will be no better than that for a MG3.
Hopefully they hit the nail on the head for reliability!
I’ve decided to hold off for longer.
Tying up a deal on a GR Yaris at the moment, so will keep my Zoe for longer than previously planned and then decide if I want / need to run a GRY and a XPower…..
If I decide the GRY is enough for me in the thrill stakes I will likely go for a Megane EV to...
On the ‘slightly below’ market perception it will obviously depend on your tax code. For me it’s definitely worthwhile.
My net is £355 (including green paint) for 3 years and 7500 miles pa. Gross is £587.
No deposit required and includes servicing/tyres/insurance.
Just had a look at LeaseLoco...
Was the interior that did it for me - very quirky with the cockpit style wrap around centre console.
The Volvo just has space - find it slightly clinical / dull looking.
Externally the Smart has more about it too.
At the price-point of the XC30 I’d be going for the Smart#1 Brabus. Much more interesting IMO.
But for me neither would be worth the circa 40% more (a month) than the XPower.
