Should I defrag the hard drive as well ?
1st service this week. Will see what they say about battery soh. But a big part of it is the tires. I think I took a 20% or so hit on range switching to Continental Pro Sport 5’s (non ev)
Hmm yeh mybe, when dealer sold me the car he reckoned just charge it to 100%. Im not panicking, fine to do regular charging when commuting and charge to 100% on long trips. But a bit bummed that a car with 400km claimed range is anything but. Max 280km odd on a full charge now
Since changing the tires on the xpower, i think i’m now getting roughly 23kwh/100km. It sucks balls. In the real world, limited charging to 80%, trying to avoid it going down to 20%, only doing roughly 120km between charges
Well I for one had a nice tussle with an amg c63s today, as well as an older hsv clubsport. No definitive results, but a bit of fun on the open road which im pretty sure the drivers of both the other cars didnt expect 😊. I was honestly surprised i was able to give the amg a run for his money...
I replaced the stock Bridgestone Turanza T005 tires for Michelin Pilot Sport 5’s at just over 30’kms. I changed brands because I was a bit pissed at how soon they needed replacing. The new tires are really good - but - I’ve lost a lot of range (maybe 15% or so?) and I’m not sure if they’re going...
I wouldn’t make it 100 metres down the road without lka complaining. It is a truely evil feature conceived by the devil himself and must be defeated.
Please some good soul give us a way to permanently turn it off 🙏
I’m pretty sure i’m on the latest software. But roads where i live mean it will never work properly I think. I’d like MG to change the behaviour of the steering wheel acc button - make it so long press turns LKA off when ACC is not active.
Thought I’d do a quick LKA guide for beginners
1] you will feel a nudge of the wheel, maybe a beep
2] yell “F YOU CAR” loudly
3] lean over and fumble with the touch screen while driving poorly
4] curse yourself for not remembering to turn it off before you left
5] curse MG for making it so the...
“…especially as it is brakes” 🤣. Nothing in stock covers affects braking, if anything having covers would prevent heat dissipating and make braking worse
Edit: but if we’re talking about aftermarket covers that work differently then 🤷♂️
I suspect it's a software nanny to prevent unskilled owners from sending their cars sideways into shrubberies. But … I bought a car with 600 Nm and 4 wheel drive for a reason. Instead of letting me use it, the car does the exact opposite- it hobbles itself. I’ve got one place in particular where...
Yeah - this behaviour is frustrating. Car sees a truck coming with lights up high (or whatever it is that triggers it), seems to get confused /scared, and slows down … silly car …
When we choose traction control off, turn it off
Its dangerous when im pulling out onto the highway on a blind corner, for the car to completely lose power when traction control is turned off and the wheels spin. There is a special place in hell for whichever engineer was responsible for that
