In my case it was the cable length. The 2M stock standard cable shipped with my phone gave me all kinds of random disconnects on my Xiaomi Mi11 but was rock solid with a shorter 1M Anker 3.1 cable.

I have the complete opposite, unless I have Android auto plugged in first, I get radio. If I toggle to USB2 it is quiet for 1 or two startups but then radio again. Wish they could have a off option?

It appears that new Sodium Ion battery packs will cause the bottom to drop out of the EV car market. Nobody will want a second hand, limited range, slow charging Li-Ion EV once these arrive in 18 mths or so.

This works for me, but does anyone know how to stop the radio playing by default on starting the car? If I change the source to USB2 it remembers a couple of times, then bingo, back to radio.
