    Xpower first long trip

Just to recap what I've found regarding energy saving mode. As far as drivetrain is concerned, in eco, normal and sport, the 'energy saving' mode just alters the point at which the 2nd motor cuts in, apart from 'snow' where it won't switch on at all as the car is in constant 4wd mode. Sport is...

    Xpower first long trip

I think you’re right, just feather the throttle in energy saving mode and eco with heating on low. Don’t think you can completely disable the front motor. Never mind at least I now understand a bit more about the car and how to get the best range from it.

    Xpower first long trip

I’ve just done some trials and ‘energy saving mode’ does appear to be one motor driving but it drops out when you floor it with an alarm that it’s been disabled due to high energy use or something like that, and the second motor kicks in. In sport it drops out fairly easily when you put your...

    Xpower first long trip

Doesn’t specifically say it uses only one motor, but it makes sense if it does. Thanks once again. I’ll select it and floor it to see if the front motor shows up on the energy consumption screen, any excuse! ?

Aha, thanks Jonny, this explains everything I missed. ? I’ll have a play, I always wondered what energy saving mode did ??

    Xpower first long trip

I’m thinking the same about eco, I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing. I’d love to be able to turn one motor off for economy on long runs but don’t know how. When I look on the energy consumption screen it does show the car using only the rear motor in eco but it does this for all...

Which setting is ‘rear motor only mode’? Is it eco? Or do I need to do anything else?

Just checked on tusker’s portal and my order’s changed to ‘awaiting final delivery checks’, I’ve also been given a registration number and a registration date of 30th November. Looks like its come on the latest ship, 3 months from ordering to delivery is about right.

    MG4 X-Power Orders & Delivery

Hi Isb777, I'd ignore the Jan date until the tusker portal shows 'On order build slot confirmed'. Tusker told me the dates will change (sooner or later) when the order changes from 'awaiting build slot'. Looks like they're building the cars in batches of colours, green being the first batch and...
