    MG4 First EV & Advice

I average around 150 miles in a normal week, so that means I’d be bang on for charging to the recommended weekly 100% anyway. I put my MG4 standard range on my home charger this morning & as with my former MG ZS sr, it doesn’t seem to allow you to automatically stop charging at 80%. The battery...

MG4 Powering down if you wish to remain seated in the car.

that was puzzling me wondering if you could shut it down. Curiosity got the better of me & I’ve just been outside in the dark & tested it and it works! - keeps the radio on which is useful. Many thanks for posting?

    Regen

It doesn’t offer one pedal driving & doesn’t bring you to a halt but you certainly notice it after driving a conventional car….& if you’ve got a lead footed nearest & dearest who treats the accelerator as an off/on switch, you notice it as a passenger as well!?

    MG4 First EV & Advice

I think with LFP batteries, you are generally supposed to charge them to 100% to preserve them - although I personally wouldn’t leave it for days at 100% not being used. That’s why with my Mg Zs SR they greyed out the ability to automatically stop at 80% on the touchscreen - it’s there for the...

    MG4 Maintenance?

I was quoted £303.21 for a 2 year plan for a standard range. I don’t tend to keep cars long so I might as well just pay at the time. I suspect MG will have new cars coming thick & fast on this new platform, so lots to tempt us!

    MG4 Insurance Issues

We have another MG4 insurer! NFU will now insure MG4 if you have the ABI code. My current insurer Lloyds could not quote so I cancelled. Took out 5 day mg drive away insurance to pick the car up yesterday. Admiral quoted £600!! & NFU took the time to contact their underwriters & came back with a...

    Voltage shows 400

I looked up the battery barcode of my std range & it came up as LFP. I’m well pleased. I’d been wondering why the 80% charge limit ability was disabled & goes straight to 100% I guess all us standard rangers can now pretend we’ve all got cut price Tesla SRs! Technology on our driveways!?

    setup load max charging %

Yes I looked up the bar code on the battery label on my Standard range & it came up as a LFP battery pack - so no pesky cobalt or nickel? Looks like MG have done a Tesla & standard range have LFP batteries that don’t mind being charged to 100%. Seems like LFP have a much longer life cycle than...

    MG ZS Standard Range

Picked my Standard Range up a week ago. 128 mile motorway journey home. 8C temperature, Windy wet weather , everything on. Absolutely horrible conditions. Set cruise to 65mph. At end Car said 3.4miles per kwh - 23% battery & 40 Mile range left - so about 170 mile range in wintry conditions. I...
