This is the cable which would complete the circuit between the BCM and the rear left tail light? you could probably test this...

I've just tried this with no luck. OP Any chance you could take a picture of the fuse tap insitu? Need to know if I've plugged this into the fuse box right.

this is very confusing... So there is no dummy connector that is closing the circuit from the BCM to the rear left tail light (see grey wire on the snip of the wiring diagram)? Mine is also a 2023 model and has the same connector as seen in Joehn's post. You are sure this is the connector...

Any pictures of the hitch connector? Particularly any sowing the colours if the wires going in from the harness and the dummy plug connector? Having a look at the wiring manual the hitch connector is definitely the easiest way. The next would be splicing the wiring to the left or right...

So this links the tail lights to the brake light circuit? It must have an 'or' configuration right? Otherwise you would loose the taillight only function?

I didn't take pictures unfortunately but can say it is a simple activity. You will need a trim removal tool or plastic ruler, a 10mm socket with extension bar ideally magnetic, or if it isn't magnetic, a small strong magnet (this is to ensure the nuts don't drop into the body panel cavity)...

Good to know. I wonder if taping into the licence plate would give the same functionality as the taillight? Ie are they always on and off at the same time or are there situations where one is on and not the other?

Did you manage to get any photos of the process? Also was there any reason you didn't tap into the side taillights, going up the d pillar and down the tailgate?
