I eventually took the car to the dealer who said it needed a software update to solve the problem of the battery draining. It's a known issue apparently. I had that recently, and holding down the home button or pressing the source button on the steering wheel didn't work. I fixed mine by disconnecting the battery for a little while.

I had that happen recently. The battery eventually died and left me stranded. Called the AA and they fitted a Bosch battery with 5 year warranty. The original battery only comes with a 12 month warranty which explains a lot.
