Just before its second service was due, the windscreen of our MG4 developed a crack that started beneath the level of the bonnet and well out of the line of fire for stone chips. As we sat in slow traffic with the screen heater on to prevent misting up, we watched the crack gradually propagate...
Johnb80. I don't know but I have considered that myself - and for exactly the same reason!
In the response from BSI, it did add that the standard was up for review every 2 years so perhaps we won't have to wait too long before getting some answers (or common sense??).
Must go now I've got...
Everest - thanks for your comment and you are quite correct in saying PAS 63100:2024 "is advisory only".
However, home owners have to consider the potential consequences of not following the guidelines - would house insurance become invalid in the case of a fire (not even one involving the...
Never mind installing indoors, Under PAS 63100:2024 even positioning batteries outdoors is banned within 1m of a door or window - even if there are two or more exits! So if you have a terrace house then forget about installing a battery.
I did ask BSI why that was but didn't get a meaningful...
Thanks for your reply.
According to the service sheet it has had "all 7 updates to HV battery and associated systems" but I have no way of telling all I know is that it now goes into Park but appears to have suffered a 2% drop in battery SOH in less than 6 months.
So I'm not entirely happy ATM.
Thanks for your feedback folks and here is my rationale for it being of concern:
It is true that we didn't make similar comparisons for ICE cars but range was not the limiting factor with 700 miles range on a full tank and I do undertake 200+ mile trips. Refuelling an ICE takes 5 mins not 20...
Folks,
Sorry for the delay in updating this thread but I've been involved in other matters.
First thing to say is that the car went back to the dealer on 1 Dec and they have fixed the software - it now goes into Park as normal.
However, as the radio hasn't been wiped out, I don't know if they...
Hi,
As a simpleton I cannot even pretend I understand all of the above - a few principals yes but beyond that it is a word salad. So perhaps you could shed a light on my problem which is as follows:
In July when my MG4 Trophy (NMC battery) was 18 months old approx 18k miles, I did my first SOH...
To me your figures sound like hitting the bigtime.
Last month our array (8 x 235W panels with 10.8% efficiency) produced just 26kWh making it by far the worst month for generating we have had in the past 14 years. It was however, completely in-line with the rest of 2024 which produced a total...
You were lucky!
When I arrived there back in November, ALL of the AppleGreen chargers were out of action. And even if they were working, that procedure is designed to confuse and dissuade 90+ percent of potential users (and it appears to be working).
It is for certain that new chargers above...
So experience is not as uncommon as I thought. And without the AA cover, the servicing costs would be outrageous for such a small amount of work and all but zero parts - indeed more expensive than servicing my wife's petrol 208 with the oil, filter changes etc.
In the New Year I will check that...
Hi everyone - a note of caution: It might be worth checking that you actually have AA cover!
I have had my MG4 serviced by a main dealer for two years and this year while looking at the AA new breakdown cover card, I questioned if I needed to log my details with the AA so (after looking at the...
Hello again everybody.
Sorry that I have failed to post a video but the clips are too big for this site and youtube wants a password from me that I can't find. I have added a picture taken after pressing the P button in the middle of the gear selector and shows the park brake is on but the...
Kithmo: On my car the park brake does come on.
Wadda: I have tried several times over the last couple of days but cannot get a file small enough to post on this forum. Might give it another again later (when looking for the supermoon perhaps).
