    Showcase your MG4 interior

I've posted these on other threads too but might as well put them on this one as well. Added a storage tray in the top of the centre arm rest, otherwise the storage is deep and things difficult to find. To help with the lack of light in the back I added a USB ambient light plugged into the rear...

A cautionary tale for MG 4 EV owners

@OriginalBigAl, the MG 4 manual says it is sensitive electronic equipment with all the usual precautions. But go on to say, keep the keyfob away from sources of possible interference when its in the car so that it's operation isn't affected, and in particular the wireless phone charge pad area...

A cautionary tale for MG 4 EV owners

I'm with @decrep with this one. I believe the battery in the keyfob is only responsible for the remote locking and unlocking functions of the car by 433MHz RF technology. The part which communicates with the car to allow it to start up is RFID technology based. There are antennas in each of the...

Is it just me (sticker not straight)

I've only got 3 stickers but they are straight. It looks like LR's (ER's and SE's?) have 3 stickers, and the X power has 4, presumably due to extra conformity for the 4 power components.

    The "Coffee Cup" alert.

This is obviously a later owners handbook, the one I downloaded when I got my car refers to the camera only, although as I stated in my earlier post mine is a later car without the camera, the manual just has the following It's interesting to see the later manual says "by comparing information...

What have you bought for your Xpower this week ?

Well not strictly for the X Power forum, but suitable for any MG4. I found the centre front armrest storage deep and tended not to use it, as finding small things would be difficult. I realise it's also the position for the keyfob if it can't be picked up anywhere else, so access to the base of...

    The "Coffee Cup" alert.

I have a later phase 1 where the camera module is not present. I get the coffee cup and bonging on some journeys. I'm not sure what parameters it looks at to trigger the alarm. One theory I had was that it looks at the number of lane departure warnings, although I like to place the car in the...

MG4 Spotted! : Was it you?

There was a Grey MG4, 23 plate last weekend in the apartments opposite is in Bournemouth. Today I've come across 2 Blue MG4 Trophy models, one was on the A40, a 72 plate. The other a 23 plate parked up in Edgware again opposite ours.

Is standart and trophy versions have same left tail lights?

I believe there will be a difference between Standard (SE) and Trophy. The Trophy has the light bar across the rear, and illuminated patterning on top of the light cluster (as in my profile picture), whereas I the Standard (SE) is plain. There may also be a difference between left and right hand...

    MG HS PHEV (Trophy) Insurnce

@Captin1234x The price has gone up considerably for Electric and Hybrid vehicles. Mine went up by £136 when renewing in July 2024 compared to 2023, so the last renewal was £651.

New MG4 Owner and EV newbie

@Simon Smith, Good colour and trim choice. For the rear passenger light, I bought a USB light from Temu which plugs into the socket on the back of the centre console between the front seats. It is touch on and off and has white LEDs facing both upwards and downwards. The car just has to be in...

MG4 Spotted! : Was it you?

A popular and noticeable colour is Holborn blue. I saw one today on an afternoon out a couple of miles away from home. Nearer my destination (Marlow on Thames) I came across a Grey X Power on the A404 junction which followed me into Marlow. On the next but one roundabout a Red one passed me...

Can I trust the displayed battery data?

@fnegroni you make a very valid point about the total elevation gain. It is something that I'd considered might well make a difference due to the consistency of the outgoing journey and return variations. I have installed a GPS geotracker so that I can capture the total elevation gain over my...

Can I trust the displayed battery data?

@fnegroni The routes are the invers of each other, 101.4 mls outgoing, 101.3 return. Elevation difference is about 450 feet lower at the destination compared to the start, (450 feet higher on the return) but there are many gradients on the way rather than the total elevation change. Total time...
