UK Owners - How many miles are you getting on a full charge?

Use the controls on the RHS of the steering wheel, starting with he middle of the three buttons to get into the message centre. Then select trip computer to toggle through the pages to the Accumulated Totals. A long press of the right hand multifunction control will reset the totals. Don't...

    Decreasing Range of MG4

@DYWLC, as @ReintjeWA points out it does sound like a typical range for an ER, but I didn't think they were about that early in 2023, so I guess it probably is a LR. Where did the figure of 316 miles come from ? The official range (combined) for the LR is 270 miles, and in city driving 358...

Will the Iran war push more people towards EVs?

No my father hated the V4 version when it came out. Ours was the in line 4. My childhood mate of the time had the GT version, two doors and a lighter green colour. I remember that used to go quite well, I think it was rated at 78 hp, whereas the deluxe was 60 hp.

Have you noticed fuel prices going up

I posted on 8th March of the prices of fuel in a filling station Marlow Bucks, (post # 42) today went past again. The prices now are, £1.589 for petrol and £ 1.879 for diesel. Well on the way to £2.00 a litre. Has anyone seen prices higher than this?

    Well I never twigged that

I just tuck the rubber cap of the charging lead into the hinged part of the charging port, opening facing downwards and then just close the flap until it touches the plug. On the other end I lift the outlet flap on the type 2 connector higher and tuck the plug cover facing downwards between the...

Will the Iran war push more people towards EVs?

Does anyone know why? I was 10 at the time, so I don't suppose I was told or really needed to know. Would it have been a council decision? BTW, @Roldorf, our Corsair was Goodwood Green from 1964, it was only ever registered with 3 digits and 3 letters, in the format of yours it would have been a...

Will the Iran war push more people towards EVs?

I've found by way of example a ration book for a K reg car (1971/2). In those days my father was driving a Ford Corsair 1500 deluxe, and my mother had an Austin A35, we had them for both. I don't know on what basis they were issued. My father drove to work around 50 miles a day, so maybe they...

Will the Iran war push more people towards EVs?

EV's could definitely become an advantage if the campaign carries on for months and affects the long term supply of oil, and fuel rationing is introduced (presumably not with a ration book like it was in the 70's) but by limiting the quantity that can be bought each time. The other horror we...

Saw 2 today in Tesco Loudwater (High Wycombe) at about 13.30, a white Trophy with fangs, and a Tango. Were you there?

    Cold weather mileage.

If an MG4 is your first EV the constant shove in the back of constant acceleration is addictive anyway. The ER at 6.5 seconds to 62 will take on a golf gti.

    Cold weather mileage.

Real world efficiency can drastically change in cold weather. My LR can sometimes use 50% of the battery on a 100 mile drive, while in summer that may only be 37%. The GOM also will only predict around 225 miles instead of 280 in summer for 100% charge so range is really curtailed. Loosing on...

    Granny charger plug burn out

Do check though before you chop off the plug that it hasn't hot a temperature sensor built in. The lead is normally quite large and will say something like...3G X 2.5 + 2G X1.5 printed or moulded into the cable. This indicates 5 wires, the 2.5 mm sq being the main power conductors and the 1.5mm...

    Granny charger plug burn out

Can you share what the sensor probe was @TimothyN, it may be a safeguard to others who don't have the 5 wire type input lead with a temperature sensing 13A plug.
