Charged mine almost exclusively through 3 pin plug for last 13,500 miles (do about 250 miles a week). Never once needed or wished I had a 7.5kw home charger. As others have said each to their own but I find that if I drive 100 miles a day (or less) the granny charger works perfect for me.

100% charge gets me a useable 250 on motorway and 300 in mixed conditions in my extended range in the summer. That’s 100% down to about 10% charge.

I use Octopus Go and a granny charger. Get all my 200 miles a week by doing that. They have just told me my rate is going down to 8.5p and they are adding an additional hour each night so will now get 5 hours at the lower rate.
