One year with and MG4 SE LR

I drove 256 miles on Friday from Portsmouth to the Welsh borders and back on one charge. Had 9% left when I got back. Overall efficiency 4.5 m/KwH. I drove conservatively the last 20 miles just to be safe. I had the blowers on or the windows open rather then the aircon. Not sure if that was a...

One year with and MG4 SE LR

I have a service plan. One of the reasons I took it out was that I thought it would be easier to get the car booked in. Having said that, there seemed to be lots of free workshop slots at the moment. Maybe the electric car grant debacle has slowed down sales and therefore also workshop jobs on...

One year with and MG4 SE LR

I'm approaching one year with the MG4 SE LR. Mileage is 6,200 and the first service is due. The car has been trouble-free. In the summer, I get 5.4m/KwH driving my wife to work and back, a trip of 9 miles taking me over the Portsdown Hill. Total range in summer around 280 miles, and about 220 in...

MG4 SE vs Long Range - Battery Technology

I agree. I'm not aware of any MG4 NMC battery fires and there must be hundreds of thousands of such models now. The batteries are made by CATL and I havent heard any scare stories about their batteries.

MG4 SE vs Long Range - Battery Technology

I bought an SE LR not realising it had NMC batteries. I had planned on getting LFP because of increased safety and longevity. If you are someone who might worry about the risk of a car fire, then choose LFP. However, I'm happy with my purchase for the reasons Rolfe gives. NMC batteries don't...

EU MG4 (all variants) - Service campaign SC077 is out, improving lane assist performance

It would be helpful to know which dealers are now contacting their customers. I bought my MG from Richmond motor group.

Merged thread: Automatic Emergency Braking activating for no reason

In my four months of ownership I've not had an AEB incident, but I always set the sensitivity to low level when getting into the car. I cleaned the small squarish area below the bumper for the first time this week. I'd rather keep the AEB enabled but I can fully understand decision to turn it...

    New MG4 - Initial thoughts

Have you checked for a bulging undertray yet? This is now a warranty fix. I've had my MG4SE LR since Sept and it's been a reliable drive as long as you set the driver aids whenever you sit down in the car. Mine came with a very old software release. This has been stable but the heater now seems...

    Sainsbury’s rapid chargers

Did our first real road trip in the MG4. Drove from Portsmouth to Cambridge, staying overnight before heading to Ely and then onto Ipswich for another night before returning to Portsmouth via a scenic route. Covered 373 miles. Recharged once at Sainsbury's near Bury St Edmunds within a few...

    Foot rest

I might remove the footrest entirely. I think I'd prefer a flat floor.

    Seat belt warning

I'll try that if/when this happens again. It will certainly be quicker and safer than unclipping and reclipping the seat belt.

    Seat belt warning

It only does it occasionally, maybe 6 or 7 times in the last two months. But it's sufficiently inconvenient that I avoiding using it now, relying on autohold instead.

    Seat belt warning

Electronic parking brake, via the pull up switch. Occasionally pushing the accelerator doesn't release it.
