I think it's pretty normal, 16A rated chargers from my testing actually pull ~15A, my UMC with 10A tail pulls 9A and 15A tail pulls 14A, 32A tail, and seperate 32A EVSE both pull 30A. The 8A MG granny charger pulls 7A. what you get into the car is then ~10% less than that for inverter and other...
