    Charging from Tesla Superchargers

Here in OZ Tesla have opened up some of their destination superchargers to other brands of vehicle. The cost is about equivalent to petrol, but if it's your only option, who cares..? Anyway, I tried to charge my MG ZS at Narooma (south coast NSW). I downloaded the Tesla app, set it up, and...

    Exploded view of drive train

Well, I couldn't find any exploded view, but since many of my mates wanted to know about my car I wrote a review here: Owning a MG ZS Electric Vehicle – Gonzo Projects There's a photo of what's under the bonnet with the items identified. Gonzo

    Measuring charging efficiency

I do all my costings on what goes INTO the charging cable - I use the meter in my wall charger. I assume the cumulative trip meter on the car measures ALL of the energy drawn from the battery, not just the power needed to run the traction motor, so that would include the HVAC, etc. Losing 13%...

    Measuring charging efficiency

Hi all. My ZS has done about 12k km, and is averaging 16.5 kWh per 100km (6.1km/kWh, or 3.8 mi/kWh). That's calculated from the energy in as measured by my EO charger. I've not reset my cumulative trip counter for a while, and that says I'm using 14.4 kWh per 100km. So this tells me that my...

Post your MG ZS EV battery SOH data please

Sydney, Aus, SOH 99.6%, 12000km, 12 months old. A few 50kW charges on trips, but mostly charged at home from ~30% to full with balancing on 7kw unit. Gonzo

    Exploded view of drive train

Does anyone have a link to an exploded view of the ZS EV drive train? Looking at mine I can imagine what is where, but it would be nice to have a picture. Gonzo

    Clock and Daylight Savings

Hi all. We just clicked over to daylight savings (Sydney,Oz) this week, but the car clock didn't. It's set to GPS sync, so it knows where it is and it knows the time and date. I switched to manual and corrected it. Is this a bug or am I missing something? Gonzo

    Boot light

@Popsie5859, the hook for the charging cable is simply a pressed steel hook from the local hardware store. They're used for hanging up brooms, etc. There are two screws (m5, IIRC) on the side of the plastic boot lining in that area - I unscrewed them, got longer ones, and attached a strip of...

    Boot light

Hi all. After being inspired by others here to install a LED strip light around the sunroof. I bought some white LED strip and fitted it. It worked really well. The next project was the boot. So, I used the left-over strip light and made this: The strip light is stuck to an aluminium angle...

Anyone experienced a small squeaking sound from the inside rear?

On the AU model it is just above the centre rearview mirror - part of the plastic console that has the interior light on it. Gonzo

Anyone experienced a small squeaking sound from the inside rear?

I've found my ZS to be the most difficult vehicle I've had to locate squeaks. Must be something with the acoustics... whatever. The squeaks sound like they are coming from somewhere they aren't. My culprits have been things rattling in the centre flip-top box, and the sunglasses case. Good luck...

    EO Mini Pro charging profile

Here's a graph of the tail end of a charging profile This shows the power usage of my house. At midnight the EV was charging at around 6kW, and at around 1am it got to full charge. It then went into balancing mode, consuming something like 400w for the next 5 hours. Then at 6am it decided it...

Centre console - how to pull it apart?

Hi all. Being a suave sophisticated bloke, I carry a man-bag, but there's no-where in the ZS to put it (other than the floor on the passenger side). I was thinking that I might pull apart the centre console, get rid of the sliding top and the folding lid sections and make a "open bucket" for my...
