I do use Vgate obdII with Car Scanner (Android) for our MG5 FL. All OK. Just one query; does the App + mobile phone type (iPhone/Android) impact behaviour?
My average (with various makes of car ICE over 40+yrs) was nearer the 20k miles mark. I part ex'd our ZS EV mk1(less than 20k) yet the tyre treads were great. Now we've an MG5 & regardless of the wear you mentioned I'll be pleased if I can get 45k!!
I did pose the same question sometime last year to MG. They got back (pretty quick!) & suggested I contact the dealer! mmh. Taking that as a no I purchased a DashCam (Amazon) with front/rear cameras. Works well, but irritating given the cables etc.
I’ve been tracking my 5 (23 plate, FL LR) & other manufacturers for awhile. And yes got more for my ZS in part-ex than my 5 is now worth! I've noticed whether off the forecourt ( few miles) or 2nd hand all EV prices are down. It means I’ll keep the MG5 rather than renew every 3 years.
Ok your LH so the bottom LH corner of screen is your 360 tab. If selected whilst car switched on it should bring up the display with all cameras active. Otherwise, with reverse selected, rear camera display should pop up by default. It is or not displaying?
As to the MG5 (FL) are you referring to the parking camera(s) or an additional CAM recorder? If the latter best you provide more details. But if you're referring to the car's parking cameras, which sounds doubtful, then select the home screen, then the 360 icon... bottom right corner of the dash.
Similar experience on MG5; took me out of D or R. Initially thought it was seat belt not engaged, but nope finally established the driver's door not fully closed! N.B. took me a few months to twig it!
I had to do the same on my son's beamer to reattach to the windscreen. I used araldite although (in case it failed) I purchased 'Loctite rear view mirror bonder'. So far (8months) still good on the beamer!
I left my keys in golf bag which I put in the boot (although car still locked). The boot latch released immediately. So concur with others suggesting the car aware of a key. Alternatively is it possible the latch mechanism is loose/slight misalignemnt?
Setting ECO mode & Kers 3 will, as already mentioned, help with moderating speed. There's no doubt it will improve your miles per kWh. But ultimately a choice between performance or higher miles per kWh?
As for us (London roads!) the above settings are fine.
I've only used the MG granny, thats for 4yrs+ now (1st ZS now MG5). If unsure re existing wiring/CU then add an RCD plug. Any heat during charging then have the socket replaced.
Granny that comes with the 5 gives 1.94kW (as per the App!). Rather than let it drop to 20% I keep within the 40%-80% bounds ('healthy mode' via the App) unless long trip.
Caution:
As previously mentioned keep an eye on 13 amp socket for heat build up. I have double (ip65) socket so alternate...
