    Annoying Blip Noise

Did you go over the speed limit at the time? Even over by 1 mph and it may let you know. I think you can set a speed limit warning in settings. Check what the speed limit is and then check if you are exceeding it. Hope you find out where it comes from as mine does that on occasion too!!

    Satnav update

MG UK will tell you (and I have the emails to prove this) that MG UK are NOT part of MG Europe, that they do NOT give free map updates here, that you can pay your dealer about £154 to apply the latest map but that is between you and your dealer, that you can NOT use an apple computer to download...

MG4 Trophy Sat Nav Updates don’t work.

Well I have never come across a more confusing situation than trying to update the sat nav system on an MG4 Trophy Long Range. I messed around for ages, then on checking, I found on the MG web site a warning that it won't work for me because I have an apple computer! The dealer said I should...

Finger print, it will get a fist print in a minute :=((

My advice, maybe put your fist thru the screen. It may be expensive but it will do you mental health the world of good and, make you feel better. The whole MG-Naviextra-satnav thing is a twisted road that leads only to insanity. Any attempt at rationality is met with 'not my fault it is MG, not...

    I have a vibration / rattle - any inspiration?

Does this only happen when you do not have a passenger in the car? If so, check the passenger side seat belt. It has a habit of turning the metal lock piece to face the pillar and rattles when driving. If a passenger is with you then obviously they wear the seat belt, so no rattle.

A cautionary tale for MG 4 EV owners

Thanks for this, that certainly would have helped me out had I known about it (assuming of course the ismart app did work for me in bluetooth mode). Knowing my luck that day though I guess the phone would have run out of charge!! I will try it out when I can and thanks again, Fnegroni Thanks...

A cautionary tale for MG 4 EV owners

Because the system went off (for me anyway) for a number of days. I did report it to Ismart and funnily enough it came back on about 3 days after this incident. If you read my first post again you will see that I made mention of it there.

A cautionary tale for MG 4 EV owners

Maybe, but all I can say is that I saw the AA guy test the battery from the key fob and it did read 2.99. So not sure what else to say as I don't understand why this happened at all. But I do hope others take precautions just in case they find themselves in a similar predicament!

A cautionary tale for MG 4 EV owners

Well at first I was able to lock and unlock the car until it eventually wouldn't even do that and reported that I should try again later (which I did for a number of days). Strangely it also defaulted to metric rather than imperial measurement without any input from me. I have to admit I was...

A cautionary tale for MG 4 EV owners

Sorry everyone and, for the eagle eyed members around, the key fob battery is in fact the CR2032, I missed the first 2 from my post so please don't go looking for the incorrect battery number I quoted, It is the CR2032. Hope I didn't cause too much confusion

A cautionary tale for MG 4 EV owners

As it happens disconnecting the 12V battery in this case would have made no difference as it was the key fob battery to blame. That said, I think you are wise to carry the spanner as it is your only option to do a hardware reset if all else fails for other faults. But do get hold of a new CR2032...
