    AA Cover - CHECK!

My dealer (Sandicliffe, Nottingham - very helpful) contacted me for feedback about my service. The AA should be informed as part of the servicing but there is no written confirmation. I have asked if the servicing documentation given to the customer could be amended to confirm the AA have been...

    AA Cover - CHECK!

My car's just been serviced by an MG dealer and I'm trying to get confirmation that the AA have been informed. It's certainly worth checking and asking the dealer when booking in the car. This page may help https://www.mg.co.uk/roadside-assistance

    USB power

The USB port will supply at 5V, so 24W implies a 5A supply which the USB socket will certainly not provide. What voltage does the cooler require?

    Impending delivery

I would try and get a granny charger at least. Useful for charging at relatives or holiday accommodation.

You may find my guide MG4 Trophy - a Guide useful. It's a little out of date but relevant in parts.

So long and thanks for all the FSH

I've found the MG4 to be good value for money. Yes, I have niggles but it drives well and I've found auto-dipping of headlights to be reliable. I've recently looked at a neighbour's VW ID. 4 Very nice, around £45,000, no one pedal driving or 360 viewing without paying over £2000. I'll stick...

    Ismart Charging Override

We only charge to 100% before going on a long journey, that is one which will take charging to below 50%. Otherwise we charge to 80% when the charge goes below 50%. This should preserve battery life. Remember that one pedal driving doesn't operate above 90% (or is it 80%?).

    Top Tips for a Newbie?

You will need to consider charging. There are many opinions on this but I would say: Charging at home is best. Depending on your use, you may need to have a 7 kWh charging point fitted For charging points on the road, use an app such as Zapmap, ABRP or Electroverse. Google maps also shows...

    Don't Buy

If only! Some 22kW street chargers don't accept contactless (Believ in Ealing last time I used them) There's a danger that a debit card may not work because the bank declines the transaction. I've had that problem with a credit card. Using an app or Electroverse card usually works because the...

    iSmart Update to 3.0

The personal profile now shows a 'Secondary Account ' which shows 'no data'. Any idea what this for? The manual is no help, it's not been updated 🙄

Which EV, new or used, would you change your MG for?

Our MG4 Trophy's finance contract finishes in September and we have the opportunity to give it back and are wondering about a change. However, we like the way the car handles and soaks up potholes. Plus there is the 360 degree view and free wireless hot-spot and it looks good - no slab front...

    Charging

The interior heating/air conditioning will probably take more kWh in the winter than summer, unless it's very hot.

Cybester an ok car as just a "summer car" and will survive long periods of storage ?

If you are storing a car for long periods, you will need to consider care of the tyres in order to avoid flat spots.
