To Update MG4 software or Not?

I guess my recommendation to update the software is partly based on the numerous issues I had (R40) and the big improvements once R63 and SC077 was installed. If someone is on an earlier version and has never had any issues at all (which is different to tolerating issues, excusing them or...

To Update MG4 software or Not?

When I had my MG4, I always turned LKA off. After the SC077 update I found it was so much better, no need to turn off any longer- in fact I’d consider it a positive post SC077 in that if it was off by default, I’d probably fumble around in the menus to actually turn it on.

I had an MG4 ER from last December until a couple of weeks ago when I traded it in for a Tesla M3.

    Help- Software update

I had loads of issues when on R40, and the R63 fix really made a difference. Far less display crashes, error messages, bluetooth dropouts, losing radio presets and the like so I would definitely recommend getting the update. …and the service update for the LKA makes a huge difference, so no need...

Should I be worried about the number of used MG4s around at the moment?

I strongly recommend you look into the dealer service issues, (or lack of) before you go any further. I bought a new MG4ER in December. Nice car, drove lovely and looked great, was really excited by the whole thing. By January I had an issue, and the earliest I could get the car booked in was...

    New MG4 coming? (merged)

The Mini EV is rated as the most reliable EV, and the MG4 the least reliable (according to What Car anyway), that in itself is a biggie, and knowing the dealer has your back if something were to go wrong is another. I wish I had that…

Chorley Motor Group Chorley - MG Dealer Discussion, Opinions & Experiences

You should be fine with a service as it’s (a) chargeable and (b) easy, so don’t worry about it.

Chorley Motor Group Chorley - MG Dealer Discussion, Opinions & Experiences

Apalling service (or lack of) from here. Contacted them mid January to book car in for a fault, earliest they could do was second week of March.. Duly dropped car off the day before, and they looked at it as promised. unfortunately they couldn’t find the fault so I had to collect it again...

    New MG4 coming? (merged)

It’s an unusual business model (not saying it’s a bad one, just unusual) completely replacing a model within 3 years, especially when it has sold well. Maybe it’s to appeal to a different demographic, as I imagine most MG buyers will be new to the brand. It also follows the more rounded Merc...

    Turn off lane assist?

My car went in to dealer on Monday (for an unrelated fault) and they did the LKA update. What a difference!! I feel it is actually beneficial to have it activated now, whereas before it was bordering on dangerous sometimes. The yank on the wheel is just a gentle nudge now, and it bleeps to alert...

New Owner - Rumbling Noises and Software Glitches

I too have a trophy ER, bought new last December. I've had many of these problems too (and more besides), booked it into local dealer mid January for a fault with the heated seats, earliest they could manage was 10th March, but in the interim more problems have arisen including radio crashing...
