Yes, others have reported a flat 12v battery in this forum. I suggest you read these threads:
MG HS Hybrid battery drain
Battery drain again
From what I can tell, it seems that some cars have faulty infotainment screens where the backlight does not switch off overnight (they look 'grey' not...
@Angela Harding - I do not want to publish this myself, because I do not accept any liability for anything going wrong for others! However, you can find this password on this forum in several places including:
Engineering Menu
Cyberster Software Versions
TIP: For the sake of convenience, the...
I suggest you read this thread: Service costs
As you can see, I put the cost (correct as of June 2025, so they may have risen since then!) in there.
Doing some quick calculations, as of June 2025, the first 3 years of servicing was approx £22.50 per month.
@Tucky - Glad that you have found some of what I said useful :) . I feel sorry for the people who have got faulty cars (there are a few people who have posted on this forum about their 12V battery going dead - because the infotainment display does not switch off overnight, so there clearly was a...
First of all, I too narrowed down my choice to the Dacia Bigster or the MG HS PHEV. For almost a year I waited for the Bigster to be released, convinced it would be the car for me. However, when it was eventually launched, the model that I was interested in (four-wheel drive) had a lousy colour...
@walton - It sounds like you've already tried the solution described here: HS PHEV - Automatic boot not opening/closing properly.
However, it may be worth you reading that whole thread to see if you get any other ideas.
For the record, others (including yourself) have reported the same symptom in a separate thread here: MG HS Hybrid battery drain
From what I can tell, it seems that some cars have faulty infotainment screens where the backlight does not switch off overnight (so they look 'grey' not truly black...
@PFCWales - I couldn't agree more. Fantastically well put. I miss the times when Britain was known for its 'mustn't grumble' attitude. Sure, there are genuine times when we should complain, but it seems that the modern attitude is too often to moan about things instead of appreciating the...
@Dirk - For what it's worth, my car's infotainment was upgraded from R46 to R62 last week. Since then (because of roadworks) I've gone past a 'national speed limit' sign (white with black cross) 4 times (I normally don't go past one). Each time I've checked to see what my car says. Every time it...
@smeagme - In case it is helpful, I bought 'official' car mats (MG part number SAC1200208) from an MG dealer. Cost me £70.
Here's a picture of someone else (lillipopman) who clearly has official mats too, so you can see what they look like in his car:
For more of his advice/feedback see here...
@Beng30 - Sounds great - well done! I guess there must have been a 'refresh' model released, with those new features.
Just to be clear, do you have an MG HS PHEV Trophy, that looks the same as the picture in my avatar?
@Bob A - If you still get that 'Service Vehicle Immediately' warning you can easily fix it yourself. It came after 9,000 miles for me too (specifically, it comes after 15,000 kilometres).
Here's the fix: How to reset service interval (remove 'Service Vehicle Immediately' warning)
Don't forget...
