Where would you have an MOT?

Not really. I think it was the first MG4 he'd tested so he was a little interested, but not to the point of wanting one! Locally I was the only owner of an MG until a year or so ago, so I doubt they have tested many others (if any). So, I guess the novelty factor kicked in!

Where would you have an MOT?

Dont laugh! From our last service with a main dealer... So glad they checked the exhaust and cat were OK, plus they magically found the spare we don't have and checked the oil level in the engine we don't have was OK as well.

Where would you have an MOT?

He could hear the fans running and saw the lights etc. on, but obviously no "On/Off switch" so... he panicked a little at getting out of the car "with the engine running". I had to explain the workings to him and how it switched off when the door was locked. He liked the car but in his words...

Where would you have an MOT?

I go to a local MOT only garage I've used for years. Not the cheapest but always honest and definitely better then the main dealer I bought from. They had no problems doing my MG4, (although the older mechanic found it odd the "engine couldn't be switched off when he got out of the car!).

    MG 4 ongoing issue

I'm afraid it's industry-wide, (not just the UK). Everything seems focussed on immediate gain and cutting costs/quality to the bone to get there. In my industry it was a constant complaint "You can't get decent engineers", yet whenever the company had one they would minimise their wage...

    New Cyberster Windscreen!

We had our MG4 Trophy screen cracked by a stone last week and we are booked in for repair with AW next week in the pm - having read all the comments I'm just praying they sort the calibration out properly and on the day!

    Annoying beeps

Our dealer mentioned it when we went to buy one for our youngest, they said it had been worse on the first one they had in and MG seemed to have done some adjustments on later deliveries but it was still an issue, (and then showed us the issue). The hope was an update to fix the issue, until...

    MG4 wipers

I feel that much of what I used to do as an average DIY-er is impossible now - and that means some garage cost can no longer be avoided. But to be honest, stuff like wipers is just icing on the cake at £40 labour.

    MG4 wipers

I had the same issue, and tried Bosch A721S as suggested earlier - immediate fix and still working today. Cost about £20 a pair on Ebay. Fitting them was no problem. As an aside, eldest just got quoted £40 to fit a pair of wipers on his Hyundai i20 - parts extra, a joke.

    MG4 wipers

I never really had judder, it was just the old wipers worked OK on the out-sweep but seemed to lift slightly on the return, leaving a smear exactly in the centre of my vision. The dealer had literally no interest, saying I needed to clean the screen better. It was really irritating so I did a...

    MG4 wipers

Yup - tested today and a real improvement! Many thanks to the person who suggested them!

    MG4 wipers

Just swapped the wipers for the Bosch A721S. Simple to do and they seem to be smoother. Won't know for certain until I get to drive in the rain, but I'm hopeful.

    MG4 wipers

Big thanks for advice in this thread - been really frustrated with smearing in the centre of the driver's vision on our Trophy. Tried everything, not thinking the "new" OEM wipers would be the likely cause. I've now ordered some Bosch A721S to replace the ones supplied with the car and hope we...

    MG4 irritations

I regularly get the "30 MPH limit" as I drive the M1, no idea why but it's not too much of an irritation as I have got to the stage I ignore the speed thing anyway. We managed to (finally) get the garage to sort the LKA update and it's a real improvement - still get occasional manic twitching...

Real World X Power mi/kWh Thread.

During the warmer weather we were getting about 4.5miles/kWHr, today's not so warm and we're hitting 3.8 on a local run (mostly 30 MPH roads and a couple of dual carriageways). A significant improvement on the 2 - 3 in the colder months.
