Bad news Bam Bam but I think you’ll find you only get 5 mins free unless they have not updated the site.
I like podpoint as you can start charging immediately, instead of waiting until the app loads, your credit card is robbed etc.
Thanks for your response Kevin.
Although I am no mechanic I am pretty sure my battery is not performing as well as it should.
I accept that the 12V battery does not have to pump out the large current that an ice car requires to start it but I suspect the cold weather, heating, lighting and...
Hi Emmrecs,
Thanks for your response and advice.
The booster you recommend looks good and reasonable price.
I was (wrongly) told that these boosters required regular charging (perhaps once per month) to ensure they would work properly. It’s good to know this is not the case and from someone who...
I to am thinking of changing the 12v battery in my 2024 MG5.
Although the car has only been registered for just over a year I suspect the car (and therefore the battery) are older.
I mostly do short runs which are not good for longevity of the 12v battery.
After an overnight trickle charge the...
Thanks for your response and I am glad you have found a solution to suit your needs.
Perhaps a dinosaur like myself should have kept my old radio/cassette player.
Thanks Kevin, Unfortunately the MP3 player does not have Bluetooth. Good advice regarding the adapter which I may go for. Again seems a backward step from MG that the MP3 worked fine in the ZS but MG5 is more fickle.
I have recently changed from a MG ZS to the MG5 fl and assumed the infotainment was faulty as my MP3 player (working fine in the ZS) would not work in the MG5. The dealer tells me it’s not a fault and it may be possible to use connect the MP3 player to the car via the headphone jack socket and...
Hi Dave and welcome to the forum. I live in Inverness and have just sold my ZS after 4 years ownership. Loved the car but changed to MG5 for extra range and practicality. I received a type 2 cable with the MG5 which is surplus and would be willing to sell for £50. Please contact me if you want...
While I am very tempted to do this I am concerned that the DVLA may view this as illegal and issue a fine along with payment of duty. It would be great if someone from the legal profession would like to comment.
I blame Government policy which prevented insurers hiking up premiums to loyal (lazy) customers who just renewed with their current insurer regardless of increased cost.
The insurers still need their outrageous profits so we all now suffer.
Lots of useful advice already but I would also suggest when charging any 12v battery in situ it is a good idea to connect the negative lead from the charger to part of the car’s bodywork (a bolt head etc) rather than the actual negative battery terminal.
