    Charge time guesstimator (web app)

Yep, that's a pretty good reckoner for a 5LR on a 7kW charger. Rearranging the how-long-will-it-take-to-charge equation, and setting d=1 (hour), the percentage increase (as a decimal fraction) is given by: dP = Cr / Uc (Cr is the charge rate in kWh and Uc is the usable capacity in kWh)...

    Charge time guesstimator (web app)

Erm, that'd be quite involved and there's the whole hassle of supporting Apple and iOS versions. Plus Apple charge you £100 or so for the honour of being able to put apps on their store. It's only just over 2kb (html+css), so not going to break the data bank, and once the page has loaded...

    Charge time guesstimator (web app)

It's on anything - you enter the charge rate you expect and it works it out from there. The estimate on the chargers themselves will be more accurate as they'll have a better idea of what the drop-off is as the car is charged, and be able to adjust the estimate continuously depending on how...

    Charge time guesstimator (web app)

Hi, I was finding that a lot of my brain capacity was being taken up with mental arithmetic gymnastics trying to estimate how long my car needed on the public chargers before it was full. So, I came up with this: http://cpsdash.iainfm.co.uk/calc.html It's quick-and-simple - just bang in your...

    Lots of free electrons

My usage in the last 8 months below. I'm not high miles (I've done under 6,000) so far. Not all sessions show up in my account (not sure why), so actual use is slightly higher. All I've paid for so far is: 3 home charges while I waited for my CPS card to arrive 3 rapid charges on my trip to...

Chargepoint dashboard (aka fun with XML (and JSON))

I've made a few smallish changes to this - A better (I think, but let me know) style, complete with icons for the connector types along with charging rate info. Sharing options in case you want to, you know, share the info with anyone else. 😁 I see ChargePlace Scotland have branched out into...

    Maximum speed...

...in reverse? Technically, you can probably go as fast backwards as forwards in an EV, but presumably going backwards is restricted in terms of speed and acceleration. But has anyone dared to find out? :ROFLMAO:

Chargepoint dashboard (aka fun with XML (and JSON))

Hi, Don't know if anyone is using this, but it has a new home on hosted webspace - complete with SSL certificate. Please update your bookmarks to: Main site: iainfm - Enter ChargePlace IDs Favourites (for example): ChargePoint Dashboard The old address will continue working for a little...

    Free leccie

Lots of free leccy available from ChargePlace Scotland chargers still, but varies by owner. Quite a lot are starting to charge for charging now, but it's still free where I am. I'm quite in favour of overstay fees that are starting to be added though. There are a couple of (non-MG) EVs that hog...

    Battery percentage increasing after charging

Mine did this today. Charged to 79%, drove off and it went up to 80% and stayed there for a good 10 miles. I put it down to the temperature difference between when I started charging and when I stopped.

    22kw charger

What I do (though I'm not retired), is drive my car about a mile to the cooncil 7kW charger, walk home, do a day's work (I'm home-based), then go and collect it after my shift. If you'd told me a couple of years ago that's how my 'commute' would be I'd not have believed you! I've also got a...

    Dashboard car graphic colour

Hi, The car graphic on my dash when I power on, and when ACC is active, is white. My car is white. Is this coincidence, or if you have a different colour of car does the graphic match? I've always wondered 😁

Home Charger advice for EV Newbie

I went for a PodPoint. Does everything I need (charges the car and can be scheduled). It was fairly painless to arrange (they asked for a lot less in terms of info before they'd accept or quote). RRP is from £799 but I paid £270 after various grants and things. https://pod-point.com/

    Chrome boot strip

Hi, Noticed mine has some pin-head sized pimples starting to appear on the chrome strip above the rear reg plate yesterday (only noticed because the dealer valeted it :ROFLMAO: ) Anyone else had this? Not sure if they've always been there or it's some kind of paint fault. It's not the end of...

Anyone notice their GPS time off today?

Yes, humourous typo excepted, I did this :) My point was the time wasn't out by an exact hour (as per the BST/GMT issue), it was out by an hour-and-a-bit which was weird.
