    IM6 or Model Y?

Nik, If you're used to the sophistication of Tesla's software I think you would get a rude shock from MGs. The one area Tesla has it all over the Chinese alternatives is the software IMHO. I'm not particularly fussed myself as I just use Android Auto as I've used it in every car I've had for the...

    Equalisation charge - NMC battery

Well I have done quite a bit of research both before purchasing our MG4s and since. Balancing did not come up as a significant determinant to long term battery health. Not regularly charging past 80% and using DC fast charging only when necessary were the main recommendations. I got Gemini to...

    Equalisation charge - NMC battery

Hi @Data , When responding to a comment re balance charging at 100% You said I expressed my scepticism re the effect on SOH. As noted an MG4 with NMC 77kWh battery. I'm dubious because I've not seen any technical analysis that says balance charging is required to maintain the long term...

    Equalisation charge - NMC battery

Really? I must admit I am very dubious about such a claim You are asserting that the SOH of the battery after say 3 years and 60,000 KMs is dependant on how regularly you perform balance charging. Are there any studies or even theoretical papers that support such an assertion? You are...

    Equalisation charge - NMC battery

23 MG4 Essence LR "77" (= UK ER) with the 77kWh NMC here. Exactly the same for me. You can see the trickle charging happen in both the Tesla App for my Wall Charger & the iSmart app for the car. What I don't get is why people are getting so stressed about it. Just charge your car when you...

    MG4 in Australia

We have driven our 51 to Canberra (from Sydney) which is about 290kms. You can't do it on a single charge at highway speeds. We use my 77 for the long trips. My wife uses the 51 around town. It's brilliant for that. The sweet spot for a 51 are 150-175km legs with half hour 20-80 charging...

They don't get 600 km on the open road at 110.

    MG4 in Australia

It's excruciatingly slow. Once past 80% fast charging really isn't that fast. Past 90% you may as well be plugged into an AC charger. Once you're on the open road with no other cars around you 300 km in a 51 would be very problematic. Even in our 77 I find a 300 km leg the absolute max I plan...

    MG4 in Australia

I guess if you stuck to about 75kmh and charged to 95% soc at each leg you might make it. Not something id enjoy.

    Equalisation charge - NMC battery

Yep - mine "balances" when I hit the 80% mark I use for battery health "week to week" charging. I can see the slow charging at the end happening via the Tesla app with my Tesla Wall Charger.

    MG4 Secret Menu Mode...

Further to your query... checking via the ChatGPT MG4 Tech Assistant... Does the mg4 support usb OTG? --- The MG4 supports USB storage devices for music and video playback, as well as USB connections for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, the manuals do not mention USB OTG (On-The-Go)...

What do you want to connect that isn't working and that you think enabling USB OTG will fix?

I honestly don't know what the "problem" is you're trying to "solve"

What you call a fault others may call a boon. I find using the "double tap" to engage "hold" extremely easy and intuitive. Each to their own.

    A few minor bugs

Why wouldn't you try what I suggested? You just set it and forget. Yes, I turn off "creep mode" when I hire a Polestar 2. In our MG4s I have "Autohold" enabled.

And it doesn't remember OPD hence my suggestion above ;)

    Have you enabled "Autohold"?
