I found the car reset did work temporarily, though I had to keep doing it as every time I got into the car it wasn't working again. Now even that's not working. Just back to no sound again :( I couldn't get a cable to work either, using official iphone one.

Holding the home button until it reset seemed to do something, it worked after that. Hopefully will still work next time. Couldn't get it to work via USB, as Apple Car Play didn't want to work, maybe i need a different cable or something for that.
