Automatic lights not responding to rain

It’s things like this that could be fixed with software updates but hey ho, there are no OTA updates and no free dealer updates, even at the annual service intervals which we pay a fair bit for here in the UK.

    360° camera tips?

As above, when I parallel park next to a kerb I push down the indicator stalk to bring up the camera view and judge distances using the 360 cameras. Great for looking at distance from offside kerbs etc.. I find it much more accurate than my own sense of distances (I'm too cautious I think but...

    XPower Lease Deal 26/7/25

I guess they have to cover themselves for a big change but it does seem a bit petty for £18. This is VW Finance policy wording (on a personal lease) :- "9.1 If you keep your side of this Agreement, until the Hiring Period ends or we terminate the hiring we will provide:- 9.1.1 road fund...

    XPower Lease Deal 26/7/25

Looks like any colour is included too (for September delivery) so not bad 👍 Personally I'm not keen on 4 year lease deals and prefer shorter 2 year deals but thats just me ........... and this one is terrible on 2 years ...

Probably won’t get an MG4 again

Even the Golf Mk 7 forum from years ago had similar threads and posts ! The consensus opinion there was that you can usually override the AEB by quickly inputting your own control (either by braking, accelerating or steering away from the obstacle, or a combinatation of accelerating and...

Probably won’t get an MG4 again

I'd say a personal (or company) lease is the best bet at the moment. There are some cracking deals if you're reasonably flexible on the car choice. No VED to pay, full warranty, no depreciation worries. You can keep nearly all your cash and invest it wisely and watch it grow 👍

MG introduce their own "EV Grant"

Yep, totally agree but I guess its' a great advertising ploy so who can blame them !! Email today :-

Discount of up to £3,750 on electric cars set to slash costs for thousands of UK drivers

There's an absolutely mental personal lease offer on the Leap C10 at the moment :- https://centralukvehicleleasing.co.uk/car-leasing/leapmotor/c10/ It seems like some of the Chinese manufacturers are using the grant as a way of advertising their cars whether or not they will get it from the...

The Granny Charger is also good to have around for testing AC charging if and when your wallbox charger is having issues.

    Water in boot lid

Here's an old thread :- Quite a few similar photos if you scroll through the pages https://www.mgevs.com/threads/water-in-boot-lid.13541/

    Cancer Screening

Hope all goes well @johnb80. and I couldn't agree more with your advice. As well as the "rear" end, it's also well worth keeping aware of the "front" end too as @Susanna says above 😊👍 In early 2016 I noted I was wanting to go for a pee quite often, especially at night, and also had quite a...

Discount of up to £3,750 on electric cars set to slash costs for thousands of UK drivers

I think it's a case of "Watch this Space" as it's currently as clear as mud which cars will meet the "sustainability criteria" 🤣😂.

    Instavolt Summer Discount at 6 Sites - 54/50p per kwh - 24/7

I had an email yesterday from Instavolt outlining a further three sites which will be dicounted all summer from now until 31 August :- Might be useful for some. Quote from Instavolt email :- These rates apply from 7pm Thursday 17th July: Derby (Normanton Road, Derby, DE1 2GG) Southampton...

    Impending delivery

Good luck with the delivery in September. Its a great car for the money and well worth it over a Trophy if you are/were in anyway a petrolhead IMHO. It still puts a grin on my face after 22 months of ownership 🤣 I reckon you'll find a big difference in efficiency between a steady 60 and a...

Public Charging - what do I need?

Agree with these 👍 and also the advice to plan ahead 😊. I have used ZapMap to identify ultra rapid charging stations (with a fair few units) along my frequent long routes. I then added these locations to Google maps as permanent "favourites" so I can easily navigate to any of them using Apple...
