I checked again yesterday NO...I am not clever enough to try it out...I am wondering if the next set of cars from China will have progressed to the point that Comma Ai is overtaken...some of them have 3 lidars. If there was better instructions for porting a car from Comma I might try it but I...
yes - turned it off and so far it has stayed off. I am wondering why it ever was on....got another glitch on the car now....bizarre it does a double beep randomly - the sort you get when you lock the car and have left the door open....did it when I was driving the other day and also when I was...
I just managed to get the excellent Home Assistant MG4 add on to work and scrolled through the sensors and settings. Absolutely fantastic, however I noticed that my car was set to heat the battery at 5:30am every morning. I have absolutely no idea how this happened as I turned this function off...
Yes my Growatt inverter has the EPS feature, but you need to set it up and have a separate CU with "essential" circuits. I was trying to avoid that expense and complexity. "NO..The inverter.........like.." comment you made - gives me enough caution not to try anything. Maybe if there was a...
My local garage quoted £290 for my second service on an MG4 stating it was the charge prescribed by MG and not controlled by them - so I searched the internet and found that Kwik Fit are authorised to do the servicing and it is costing about 50% - my breakdown cover is with my car insurance...
What a great solution. I have a growatt inverter and solar PV. If we have a power cut - regardless the whole lot goes down as the inverter needs grid to work. IF, I did the following - might it work....a) Power cut, b) set car to discharge, c) switch off the grid at the Consumer Unit d) plug car...
Could that work - that was what I was thinking. 1) Power cut - switch off the grid at the Consumer Unit....plug in car to any house socket, set car to export - car battery runs house.....OR 2) if you have a home battery and solar and an inverter....the car "emulates" the grid - the home battery...
No I am not looking for VTG I am wondering if the MG4 can discharge into a house socket, with the mains switched off, and whether that will "fool" the Growatt inverter and house batteries into believing "they" are still connected to the grid. Then if there is a power cut, I can run the house...
I have a 10kWh battery, Growatt 6kW inverter, and an MG4. I am wondering whether the following is practical. Could I disconnect from the mains at the consumer unit, then plug the car into a socket in the garage and set the car to discharge. Would the car be seen by the growatt inverter as GRID...
Yup - I was really worried when it happened to me. So I got out, locked and then unlocked, got back in and thank heavens it worked. As others have said I think I jumped in too fast the first time!
Had the same problem with my Trophy MG4. lock and unlock the car, listen to see if there is a click at the charging flap. If there is not the solenoid has broken - this should be covered under the warranty. I had mine replaced. The big problem is to get the MG garage to take the car in to fix...
i now have the same problem - really frustrating - what a stupid design not to have a failsafe method to open the hatch - the car is obviously useless if you can't charge the thing! I will update what the MG garage says and what happens next. Thanks for the information and the heads up that we...
Daniele, I have made a complete mess of my house with HomeAssistant (I love it) but everytime there is a glitch I get an earful, which is completely justified. I am going to have a go with Openpilot at some stage. The kit is about £1000 and the car harness will need to have the correct plugs...
