I think iSmart might be quite different for you if you have an MG4. On my 5 I've never had to close and re-open the app. I used to have to refresh the Vehicle Status screen before I could see anything but that seems to have been fixed quite a while ago and the app is reasonably solid for me...

As others have said, just leave it charging after it gets to 100% and it will balance itself. 85% seems suspiciously low though. I think that at 5 years old most people would expect it to still be over 90% unless badly treated.
