Perfect! Thank you Kevin, thats exactly the way I'm going to go using the small claims court.
Also, I'm in Scotland (different legal system) so they would need different legal advice.
I've already told them my costs for 8 months, including depreciation on the MG5 for the 8 months and £250/month...
No, they approved one after 6 months and advised me to contact the distributor for it. The distributor said a loan car cannot be offered because MG did not agree cost with the distributor. MG sent me into a loop but no loan car was offered.
So, got my 2022 MG5 (pre-facelift) back after 8 months taken by the distributor to replace two bad battery cells under warranty. MG has offered £500 ex-gratia 'gesture', but then withdrew it after I said £500 was not adequate.
Collected my MG5 yesterday after 8 months at the dealership to diagnose and replace two faulty cells in the traction battery.
Tom Lane (above comment) says the warranty obligation is between me and the dealer who sold me the car. I consider the warranty is between me and MG, if only because I...
MG approved a loan car after 6 months but did not accept the dealer's loan car proposal - so no loan car yet. Whats your opinion regarding my 'lines of reponsibility' question?
I'm considering legal action.

After seven months at the MG dealership, my car is still not repaired (Virtu Motors, Edinburgh West). They report frequently but just one excuse after another. First they didn't have a level 3 technician, then MG disagreed the scope of the repair, then no battery...
My 22plate stopped on the motorway with whole family on way home from airport. That was in August. MG refused their own dealership's report because the dealer did not have a level 3 certified technician. Only one level 3 training available in Scotland (they told me) and fully booked. I went to...
Update this morning 2nd September: Macklin secured a workshop appointment for 21st October at Arnold Clarke's battery-certfied workshop in Glasgow. Assuming they assess a replacement main barrery under warranty, I should be able to ask MG for a temporary car, which will be 2.5 months after the...
Just an interim report for now. Macklin are'nt (yet) technically certified by MG for main battery issues. They initially asked me to remove the stricken car but then relented and located an MG certified service in Glasgow. They are making arrangements to move the car there (at their effort and...
Sure, I'll report back to the forum how I get on with the battery warranty, but first to say something about Macklin Motors Kia Edinburgh (owned by Bristol Street Motors who are part of Virtue Motor Group) because I don't have roadside recovery on my insurance. I called Macklin and they arranged...
My MG5 LR 2022 (pre-facelift) with 38k miles went into a limp mode last week while driving (with the family) on the motorway. Battery still showed 25%. Managed to eke out a couple of miles crawling towards an exit ramp before it finally packed in. Stressful and even a bit dangerous.
Rescue...
