If you are trying to do this with a heat gun a practice piece would be useful. There are, sadly, plenty of bits of car plastic on the roadside which might be good practice pieces!

Does anybody know how 'accurate' the dates on the tyre weld is? Mine has a date of 22021124, which I assume is November of 2022, and a label saying 'Warranty Period: onboard 3 years'. As my car is just over 2 years old from new, I am assuming that means it is good for at least another year...

Have you thought about using a USB Powerpack to provide power? They are not very expensive and I would think they would last long enough for a car park parking record. Simplifies the whole installation and avoids any wiring changes. Just need to remember to recharge periodically, or even...

Would be interested to know if those fires are in proportion to the number of EV in each area. Also, I wonder if that includes scooters which I would assume are more prone to problems, especially some of the cheaper imports?

I've done the same - reverse in for charging when in the garage, but an easy 'under the door' for outside or visitors.

Starting a thread which I'll keep up to date as things progress in case it helps anyone else. Drove car on Saturday 17th for about 200 miles with no problems and put car on charge overnight to recharge from 30% to 100% - another long drive planned on the Sunday. Car started charging overnight...

Thanks for that prompt reply! I had read this in the manual, but was never sure as to its full meaning. As my home charger does not actually reach 7 kW (normally around the 6.5 kW) this would imply that it is acceptable for a balancing charge? What are your thoughts? What do other owners do...
