    Phone interface

I have added a couple of extra phone numbers AA_Mobile and AA_Home to my contacts list. They are always first in the list so easy to choose

Common problems with the new ZS EV

Does anyone have a simple explanation as to what Dead Reckoning actually does? Either on or off

Tutorial for updating maps on ZS EV Gen 2 (avoiding mgmotor.eu)

Thanks for the clarification and a good point about compromised .zip files

Tutorial for updating maps on ZS EV Gen 2 (avoiding mgmotor.eu)

The link in the pdf is the same as the one I referenced above. I didn't have to put a VIN to access the files. Seems strange that you did?

Tutorial for updating maps on ZS EV Gen 2 (avoiding mgmotor.eu)

Clicking on the link above simply started the download with no options. Mine is a ZS Trophy Long Range ... but I cannot imagine the range would affect the map data - but willing to be proved wrong!

Tutorial for updating maps on ZS EV Gen 2 (avoiding mgmotor.eu)

I had ignition on and therefore effectively ready to drive. It might be possible in standby but I had plenty of charge and I wasn't sure if there might be a turn off time on standby. I downloaded from the (https://www.mgmotor.eu/storage/map-data/maps.zip) site, but as I say it took a while...

Tutorial for updating maps on ZS EV Gen 2 (avoiding mgmotor.eu)

A successful update of the maps in the UK. Took nearly two hours to unzip the download to a large USB stick and then about 30 mins to do the update in the car with 'ignition' on and in Park. Photo of current version level attached in case it helps anyone - sorry it's a bit out of focus, but...

Various issues with ZSEV Trophy LR - advice needed

As someone who garages their ZS of a night-time I have noticed that if you put away wet she'll come out wet in the morning due to the lack of 'ICE' residual heat. I find using a squeegee to take off as many water drops before putting away helps.

Yes you can drive through big puddles.

Deep water would not be an issue!

Yes you can drive through big puddles.

Sorry perhaps it's my terminology. By wings I mean the bodywork pieces over the front wheels. I posted the following thread when it happened to me https://www.mgevs.com/threads/driving-in-the-floods.15193/

Yes you can drive through big puddles.

But do be aware there is some foam in the front wings that can soaked and even slightly displaced - well there is on my MG ZS. Takes ages to dry out in the winter.

Have you set the loan car with the same environmental controls as your own is normally set?

    Driving In The Floods

Good thought, but I do not think there is any way the moisture could 'wick' into the cabin from there ... but happy to be proved wrong. I have started to use a couple of the dehumidifier bags on the dashboard and they do seem to make quite a difference, in addition to some of the settings for...

    Driving In The Floods

Last week I had to drive during the heavy flooding, due to hospital trips, and so I was driving through flooded roads approximately 30 cm (1 foot) deep in water. No major problems and most other drivers were being sensible in their speed through the water. When I washed the car at the weekend...

ZS Trophy LR just dead on drive

As I read on other EV sites/manufacturers the battery does seem to be a common issue. I am surprised nobody is selling a non-lead acid replacement battery for EV's ... or does anyone know better?
